So basically this is a psyop with a "hip hop, minorities and the trans agenda are destroying society!" rant as it's theoretical foundation.

I guess this will really make those Cubans hit the hardest by US economic terrorism yearn for freedom and structural adjustment programmes so they can finally enjoy the liberty their comrades in Haiti does.

Cubans are still quite catholic and they do not have the best history of LGBT rights. it's getting better, but gay marriage isn't even legal there yet. I would say they're better than the US on most things queer related, but this is probably an attempt to use some of the less progressive attitudes in some as the thin end of the wedge

Cubans are actually much less Catholic than the rest of Latin America from what I have heard.

To be fair the pope visiting any country would probably involve a head of state visit. That being said I agree Catholicism probably is a barrier to LGBT rights in Cuba, I just don't think it could possibly be worse than Christianity in the USA is.

my point was not that it's worse, I don't even think hardcore catholics are worse than southern baptists, but that it is a factor the US wants to play on and so that is part of why they are funding trans groups in Cuba, in an attempt to cause civil unrest

My guess, and what I can glean of the article, is that it has less to do with Cuban opinion and more to do with that of domestic Libs. They want to make cuba out to be a hellscape that tortures and kills us poor transes. Not mentioning the fact that Trans people get free healthcare and human rights in Cuba. Libs are so obsessed with marriage that it blinds them to how little it really matters outside of specific contexts.
