Is it any good? I kinda want to see it because I really like the original story and want more King Arthur movies, but I also don't trust Hollywood to make any good King Arthur movies.

It's good, but If you've seen writer/director David Lowery's other movies then I'd say it's very much in the style he's known for. It's not an exciting, action packed medieval adventure. It's 2 hours of slow, ethereal, contemplative Arthurian vibes. Very beautiful, very well made. I've never read the original poem, so I can't speak to it's accuracy.

I think the original was kinda like that, its more a story about trying to follow the code of chivalry to your best ability but not being ashamed if you falter and fail because its human. I think theres like an "Oh yeah on the way there were adventures and battles" thing but thats it.

there's no fights really. The green knight extends his challenge, Gawain accepts and decapitates him, roundabout a year later he tracks him down, and receives his blow in return. THe real conflict is the internal battle between his want to flee and his honor and chivalry.

I haven't seen it yet, but the trailer had me intrigued just based on the fact that it seems to have been made by someone who remembers that film is a visual medium.
