Lol I saw the r/politics thread and everyone was saying " of course, I could never like anyone more than I hate doldnad bumpf" and things to that effect. Just working overtime not to acknowledge the shit situation they're in.
The pessimist in me realizes that we are also witnessing the dems banking entirely on electoral norms to remove trump, given that the rest of their norms-affirming chances and machinations were largely shrugged off by the Trump admin. It's one of the last feathers in their cap. Biden is bland and uninspiring but he is normal (at least for their purposes) but he doesn't need to inspire because returning to normal, to idealize the past, are all counter-inspirational at their core.
