Reunification was forced on East Germans by a West which proceeded to loot its state industries and steal from its citizens. If you haven't already read Star Wraith's post on the subject.
shining beacon of human rights
:agony-shivering:
WE STILL HAVE SLAVERY

"The rule of law" is such a meaningless lib catchphrase. It's basically the notion that all citizens are equal in the eyes of the law, which is what every state believes in theory (except Israel I guess lmao) but few if any accomplish in practice, especially not :amerikkka:.
There's just no intellectualy honest way to argue East Germany was worse at "respecting the rule of law" than any capitalist country where police abuses go unpunished and rich people get away with crimes, which is all of them.
are people aware that the stasi was directly responsible for like less than a hundred deaths (majority nazi) over the ddr's entire existence?
CIA and Hollywood cold war propaganda has made them out to be ruthless police that will kill anyone who disobeys their order.
DDR was a better country on it's worst day than the USA will ever fucking be.
:GDR-emblem: :amerikkka:
No country that forces its people to live their lives in the service of private dictators can be called a democracy.
