Doesn't mean it isn't true, just it hasn't been vetted.
It also goes against previous results from a few different countries so it is probably an anomaly (not weird given how specific the study was, similar to that study which showed delta is, like, ridiculously more contagious, far more than previously thought, which had an extremely unrepresentative sample) and honestly I don't know why many people here are very preoccupied with finding "owns" like this, especially when it is really not helpful whatsoever with increasing vaccinations.

I mean China is doing bad by their standards, but that's like 140 cases a day. Florida added nearly 14 000 cases a lay, that is literally thousands of times worse than China on a case per capita basis.
I think with the advent of the Delta variant, zero-covid or covid free is impossible now. Even countries with good virus containment, like China, are adding over 100 cases a day now. The increased transmissibility of the Delta variant is the reason.
Yeah it's just completely unbelievable how bad Florida is. I have no idea, how my country with a 10% vaccination rate, is doing marginally better.
I think the mainland is at about 60 local cases, trending downwards from 100+ 2 days ago. Still too soon to tell though if it'll keep going down.

Show them this New Yorker article about how China controlled covid. It's written by an American teacher who was working in China when it started. It's not a leftist article, by any means, but does give a good realistic account of how China managed to get it under control.
