I think they're counting on covid just kind of petering out on its own because of what happened in the UK, except the difference is that (IIRC) 90% of people in the UK are vaccinated. (And the UK has the NHS.) But yeah, Biden doesn't want anything to change and we may be closer than all of us realize to having a state government somewhere overthrown by a bunch of gun-wielding chuds.
According to Google's info box thingy, 70% of people in the UK have had at least one shot, so 10 points above the US, but they certainly haven't reached critical mass yet
