Days like today I'm glad that I'm an eldritch creature that derives sustenance from seeing people who would have styled themselves modern-day Roman Senators twenty years ago now wail and tear at their togas.

I live in WV and I’m not sure what to make of this. Is this just more bullshit about libs hating entire states for going red in the general or something?

What's the official terminally online neolib take on what's happening? I'm guessing it's some form of "them brown people can't help themselves being uncivilized".

some of them have turned on biden while others defend biden and blame everyone else (especially afghans and poor people) for not supporting american imperialism enough

My dad told me yesterday “we trained these people for 20 years and you don’t train people to surrender but they’re surrendering anyway”

I rarely get the :wut: feeling in real life but fuuuuck what are you talking about

They're feeling the heat as it's their own decisions that have fucked things up and to distract from it they're feverishly punching down.

This happens a lot. You'll notice the same when "I care for the poor" types suddenly and viciously start attacking the poor. Point it out and you get banned. Pointing it out causes cognitive dissonance.

Going by the clown shit op ed they upvoted to the top this morning, its the fault of the American people in general for not being warlike enough of a people.

But in particular, some strawman version of "populist" anti-war activists on Twitter who clamored for the end of the war and are now mad at how much of a shitshow this ended up, because those people definitely exist.

Reminds me of that debate on Bill Maher's show between Ben Shapiro (lmao) and some guy, the discussion was around "Critical Race Theory" and the other guy (whose name I don't know) said that Texas was trying to erase their own history by removing all references to the KKK. Maher, in typical lib and neolib fashion, responded "Well, it's Texas.."

    They're all repulsive.

Texas had a few Democratic governors but they were all waffling centrists who could not cement any lasting legacy besides consensus and compromise.

Most folks don't want to vote for fence sitters, over and over again. That is what centrists the world over have never been able to truly comprehend.

What's the concensus on Ralph Yarborough? He seems like one of those later New Deal progressives like Frank Church or Mike Gravel.

He wanted Texas to become a major tech and space hub.

Was very into NASA locating there. That is all I know.
