Can't wait for Amazon to start a grocery chain and bank branches, that would be peak hellworld :agony-shivering:

I think they're actually gearing up to change the stores over to Amazon locations soon, they remodeled part of the local one to include an Amazon exclusive area and they seem to be becoming extremely aggressive with labor and all that, completely changing tons of old long standing rules, going on a massive firing spree and trying to clean out as many people who were making above minimium wage as possible.

Shits fucked lol, this is the future

this is just the wal-mart model but applied to the entire retail sector.

under-cut competitors until they go out of business, then do what they used to do and raise your prices.

They infrastructure they build under one central authority will actually come in handy when the workers take it over centrally (I am not joking) - this really makes a stronger case for a planned economy, like if everyone worked for amazon it is basically planning except that the decision making is not democratic (which a revolutionary movement/party can take care of)

Edit: I mean imagine an amazon union which covered the wearhouses, transport, and retail.

I'm waiting for the federal government to take over 3 companies and use them to solve hunger and homelessness immediately. Unfortunately this isn't the Dark Bernie timeline, but maybe someday soon...

Well now you can’t get into the store without scanning your prime shit and then they just charge you on the way out, but I’m sure there’s some ways to still game that system.

Not that it would be all that funny (might be idk, depends who does it), but someone needs to do a comedy sketch about "shoplifting from the Amazon Go store" lol

Old school sci-fi: Megacorps control everything and they are ruining the world.

Modern day reality: Megacorps control everything and they are ruining the world. Plus two day shipping!

Translation: Amazon plans to start buying out existing retail companies and converting every single store in the world into an Amazon Prime Now(TM) location.

Gig work is the path back to company script. Offer like 20 an hour but you operate through an app owned by some subsidiary or partnership company who you take freelance gigs from that pays you 2000 cool points an hour or whatever and you can convert that (minus convenience and processing fees takes 3-5 days for confirmation, if you have any concerns reach us via live chat wait time up to 5 days) into 10 dollar visa cash cards with massive fees (so you can argue it's not script) OR 20 dollar Amazon family fun dollars redeemable at all Amazon brand locations (expires in 3 months)

Edit: I feel like I just peered through a wormhole in time here and ive given myself a fright

One of the malls near me has an Amazon 5-Star shop in it, where they sell all Amazon branded stuff (it's rated 5-stars on the website, don't you want this amazing garbage!?)

I mean opening up warehouses that the public can access and buy things is basically the Costco business model.
