In like seconds sometimes. It depresses me because I love that kind of stuff and it sometimes seems like it will be years before they are readily available.

If it makes you feel better, there is pretty much one one true PS5 exclusive (the new Ratchet and Clank game), everything else is either also available on PS4 or PS3 or PC

yeah. I was lucky enough to get one and... tbh... I haven't really been using it that much yet. it's nice and all, but no one is really missing out or anything. the best part has honestly been faster load times when I die in God of War. but that's about it. also, ratchet and clank is... fine. it's fine.

Yeah I lowkey regret my decision to of buying the PS5. Turned it on for R&C clank for the week i played and then haven't touched it in nearly a month

I personally want it for The Demon Souls Remake. I am a huge huge Souls fan, it's my third favorite series of all time, so it's a console seller to me.

This is exactly why I bought the PS5, and ngl demons souls remake is great. I honestly really like my PS5 even though 95% of the time I’m playing PS4 games on it. It still makes those run at 60 and (kind of) 4K.

Yeah I realize it's silly first world stuff. I just really want to play that Demon Souls Remake.

I think they are selling out, but slightly slower (tens of minutes), prolly has to follow some twitter thingy to catch drops :shrug-outta-hecks:

I was able to get one, I followed a couple Twitter announcement pages with notifications on and after a couple days of slightly trying I managed to get one. It took a bit of effort but not awful

Same here. I followed some of the twitter accounts posting restocks, and just got into the habit of checking a few times a day. It took about a week of being mildly serious about it, and then I happened to hit it at the right time.

Getting it from Sony is the fairest, since there's a waiting room an hour beforehand or so, and then it's just a raffle. Always worth a try when Sony gets them in stock.

I genuinely don’t understand why they aren’t all through Sony. Sony made the thing and it’s consistently selling out, there’s no reason to go through 3rd party retailers

Wouldn’t be capitalism if it didn’t move through ten different middlemen before reaching the consumer

3rd party contracts most likely. They were probably signed years ago and no reason to pull out. Not too mention they probably lack the infrastructure to sell directly to consumers. The consoles are a B2B product in that sense

yeah Sony is the best way. A friend helped me get one through the raffle.

it's been out nearly a year and they still have such huge stock issues huh. I get the context of the pandemic and such, but like they knew the state the world was in when they released it

I'm still trying to get one for my dad as well, but I've found following this twitter account to be very useful - as they usually only tweet whenever Gamestop/Best Buy/etc are about to restock: https://twitter.com/PS5restocks_etc

For what it's worth though, from my experience so far, I would recommend either the Gamestop or Best Buy restocks if you're going to sink time into sitting there hitting 'Add to Cart'. Gamestop's restocks are based on their $15.00 Pro membership and are emailed to members before they're available, so if you want a more 'guaranteed' option that would be my recommendation. Best Buy is just sensible and sticks every new visitor to the product page in a 5-10 minute queue and makes you wait that long before you can hit 'Add to Cart' - I actually managed to get one in my cart that way last week but it was for in store pickup and none of the Best Buys in my area were doing it. :angry-hex:

I'll try GameStop, best. Buy and Sony themselves. Thanks man. This is as bad Wii was back in the day if you remember that console being here to get.

I wanted one too but I have a pc and I was just gonna buy it for demons souls and I already made the mistake of buying a console for one game with the switch. Barely touched it after finishing Zelda and Mario

That's exactly what I want it for, the Demon Souls remake. As well as Bloodborne and Ghosts of Tsushima sequel. I was on Xbox last gen so I'll finally get to experience shit like Last of US 2 .

If I get one I'll have so much shit to play.

Mario Odyssey and BOTW were amazing games, but I do agree. I think the Switch is a bit of an overrated Nintendo console myself

If you want to buy it online you can try Bird Bot. It’s a free open source scalper bot that I used to try and get a 3080. I didn’t get one, but the hype might have died down enough for it to work :shrug-outta-hecks:

You can get one from a scalper, but it will be twice as expensive.

Mostly, a good bit is covid slowing down production lines and also just high demand (although I feel like after almost a year under normal circumstances that part would be over by now)

In my area the disc version is available for around $700 on Facebook marketplace. Thats only a little bit more than what you would pay for in store after tax.
