Fuck it. Let's pretend that Bernie somehow cost Hillary the election. Let's pretend that Hillary didn't intentionally prop up Trump. What does that say about her as a candidate if a self-described socialist can sway public opinion? What does it say about her ability as a politician? Why didn't she reach out to those Bernie supporters with anything meaningful?

They were so certain they didn't have to make any concessions, they looped back around to blaming socialists when it didn't work out for them.

The same socialists they were insulting for implying they even had a voice in the party.

Must be nice when Heads, they win - Tails, you lose.

This is the thing that is fucking INFURIATING. There wouldn't be "spoiler" parties if they simply shared fucking power with the footsoldiers of their political base. People aren't voting third party just to post the "I'll fuckin do it again" meme on r/Politics. They are doing it because the Democrats DELIBERATELY chose not only to exclude them, but to go out of their way to undermine them.

This talking point is insane. RBG and whoever that other guy should have retired FFS. Also for all we know, Bernie could have won and we wouldn't have been at this situation.

I don't care to look it up, but I remember reading that the majority of bernie stans caved and ended up voting for Hillary. Not that it matters. The left in the US only exists so that whitecheck dipshits can use it as a scapegoat for why we need more fascism.

Of course a majority of Bernie voters were Hillary voters in the general. As these people love pointing out, Bernie-or-Bust die-hards are an overrepresented minority on Twitter. The numbers don't actually matter though, because in a liberal democracy, power can never fail the people, it can only be failed.

A significantly higher percentage of Bernie primary supporters voted for Hillary in 2016 than Hillary primary supporters voted for Obama 2008

Between the defeat in Afghanistan, the Supreme Court decision to effectively kill Roe, the continued disaster of Covid, and the catastrophe of climate change, Liberals are coming to terms with the fact that their entire political project has turned out to be an unmitigated disaster, and they are not handling it well.

I suppose it did for the Obamas and Clintons of the world, but millions of people truly believed that under the stewardship of the Liberals, the arc of history would inevitably trend towards justice. Those people are basically up shit's creek now.

Americans are truly the most propagandized people on Earth.

The Hillary "slay queen" crowd is not being Ironic. They've been lead systematically to truly revel in that mindset.

For the anti-war libs it is good news, but for the partisans, Obama doubled down on that meat grinder and another chunk of his legacy just circled the drain.

At least Biden running out with his tail between his legs finally puts to the rest all the absolute dumbfuck lib takes about how "Obama couldn't just pull out!!! It's complicated!!!" and chuds with identical takes about Trump. Obama could have done the same exact goddamn thing with a similar or better outcome.

they prefer losing to the right than the left winning. therefore their losses, as long as the right is the winner, are still partial victories.

“The variety of candidates is a positive here, and many of the lesser known can serve as a cudgel to move the more established candidates further to the right. In this scenario, we don’t want to marginalize the more extreme candidates, but make them more ‘Pied Piper’ candidates who actually represent the mainstream of the Republican Party,” read the memo.

“Pied Piper candidates include, but aren’t limited to: • Ted Cruz • Donald Trump • Ben Carson We need to be elevating the Pied Piper candidates so that they are leaders of the pack and tell the press to [take] them seriously."
