She cares more about the spectacle than she does about governing.

That's the most infuriating part somehow; that Liberals absolutely believe Conservatives care what Liberals think of them. Going "I'm disappointed in you but there's still time to save my opinion of you" doesn't fucking work and never has, but they're so narcissistic that they can't believe it.

Liberals often have a worldview that conservatives have the same basic view of reality, but they've gotten some details wrong. They think conservatives really want to be liberals and will become so if only they're shown facts and examples of good behavior. That's why liberals seem so smug.

Also, this is just rank and file democratic voters or maybe low level staffers. Elected representatives are callous ghouls acting in knowing service of capital.

Liberal are like the Borg - if the Borg didn't actually assimilate anybody but they were smug in the knowledge that they could do it.

Trump was the most popular president amount his party since post 9/11 Bush. He will absolutely win in 2024 if he runs and Republicans will sweep right into office out of popular resentment for vaccine mandates and probably whatever harebrained Qanon theories exist by then.

Pelosi is politely asking Republicans to not be like Trump because he's too popular. It's goofy as hell.

Also, who knows how the bourgeoisie are going to care about which party enforces their will by 2024.

According to fractal horseshoe theory, this makes you a centrist.

Anyone else always read 'Paid to Lose' to the tune of Born to Lose by Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers?

The stupid thing is that rank and file Dems only take the "civility" tone because that's what the Obamas did. If the Democratic leadership started calling the GOP losers voters would eat that up.

Old Democratic die-hards really believe this too. I've heard too many boomers laud Biden for not trying to divide the nation and embracing both sides 🤢
