It's probably fine we have fully functioning murder robots, right?

Then getting the completely unforeseeable blowback of country becoming a far right dictatorship.

And the "blowback" in the ME is a benefit to bourgeoisie in its own right. Death and destruction aren't side effects, they're the goal.

Yeah, the US deliberately pushed the Afghanistan war to China's border. The conflict is the point

But then at least the people will have economic freedom which they wouldn't have had if the natural resources had been nationalised and the revenue spent on helping the people, so all in all it is still more democratic.

I enjoy that when it comes to Iran, Israel is perfectly capable of sneaking in a virus on a USB stick, or performing a very targeted assassination. But apparently taking out alleged military leaders of hezbollah can only be done through leveling entire buildings, or key pieces of civilian infrastructure.

It's apparently the other way around

Israel lacks the surveillance capabilities in Iran that it has in other places, like Gaza, where it uses drones to identify a target before a strike.

        :thonk:

It's almost as if having functional ballistic missiles saves lives by discouraging the bombing of all your weddings for two decades

Very antisemitic of you to suggest that Israel shouldn't assassinate people with killer robots

Ngl without the context, "israel has killer robots" sounds like some wierd nazi conspiracy

I imagine the future of this will be recognition and firing control software that runs off phones so you could slot the phone into an articulated gun mount along with a cheap pistol. It will end up being a lot more useful to insurgents than states I think.

They already have something close to this for US soldiers, it just requires a specialized rig

I honestly don’t know how much more Iran is going to take before they stop being prudent and the USA gets the big dumb war they wanted.

I think it'll probably be fine, as the ussr showed official enemies of America are typically moral and sane enough to avoid overreacting to US aggression and causing a world war.

I could have sworn we had a robocop emoji.

Anyways, scifi and science exist in a dialectical relationship.
