Bonus points for accusing China of something that may have been a part of US bioweapon research in the mid 20th century, and for finishing their agitprop masterpiece with capeshit that also doubles as blackfacing Chinese Canadians.

What if there was a country who actually tested biological, chemical, and nuclear weapons on their enemies and own domestic population that they considered “lesser?”

Reminder that there is more genetic diversity within races than between. This is American eugenics projection at its finest.

My first thought was to ponder the diversity of Chinese and Black lineages. These people think Panda Express encompasses all Chinese cuisine. Also white is just as much of a construct and abstraction. And it was Reddit, and it was Marvel. And America is the one who spends all their time and energy making weapons. And that's not how genetics work. But mostly the genetic diversity makes this absurd on its face.

Well, genetic diversity is highest on the African mother continent as migration necessitates subsampling of the population - founder effects. But that migration was an evolutionarily recent trend, with little time for significant genetic drift. Most of the differences are noise from our ancestral minimum population.

And that’s uncharacteristically small. Modern humans universally are the result of a population bottleneck via some kind of disaster (volcano, meteorite, etc.), so we are a very homogeneous species. Compared to us, two chimpanzees at opposite ends of the same forest have more diversity than a Norwegian and an Angolan.

Ultimately this is a fortuitous and situational argument for universal human rights, and fails to anchor sentience and consciousness as inherently valuable. If there had been more time between migration and modern re-contact, or more significant chance mutations in our time, this would not be be a valid argument against eugenics or racial hierarchies.

Damn, I guess I was making a cultural diversity argument at the risk of encouraging calipers, huh? I was trying to illustrate the idea that someone from Ethiopia and another from Burkina Faso might not get along that well and it would be derivative to say that they share the same melanin in their skin because of gene n3029239872987.

That isn't really a problem for the bioweapon, since it is also not real.

Race is bullshit but genetics are a thing. The problem is, the science behind genetics can get really calipery really quick if left unchecked. People of certain ethnic or geographic backgrounds tend to be more or less susceptible to different ailments. For instance, Sickle Cell Disease is much more common among people who originate from Sub-Saharan Africa than it is for most other populations.

Fascists look at scientific discoveries like this and see a doorway to developing white-supremacist pathogens. Then imperial core normies project it onto their state adversaries because no matter how evil the US is, the enemy must be worse.

With regards to the meme: I think it's really funny that these people think a racially segregated Chinese-American military division would turn out to be America's final line of defense, considering the US's historical treatment of Chinese laborers or it's contemporary climate of suspicion and fetishization. We're already purging Chinese people from research positions in universities because of a general paranoia about espionage and they think we're going to turn around and give them all the tanks and F-35s. The whole fantasy is the product of an exceptionally melted cape-brain.

There isn’t a single genetic marker that could reliably be used as a proxy for socially constructed race. A bioweapon targeting a gene (is that even a thing?) would both leave a ton of the targeted race alive and a ton of the nontargeted races dead.

It is incredibly unlikely, as in verging on impossible like walking through a solid wall because if quantum effects possible, that you could find a critical gene that could be targeted to a specific "race."

    • NaturalsNotInIt [any]

It's definitely possible to make drugs that are "race targeted". They won't be 100% accurate, but if 23 and Me can do a Race Science on you with just your spit (and it's pretty accurate from my family's results), they can make diseases too.

That being said, it's a moot point because most Chinese people in Canada are either not from the PRC or left the PRC because they're rich and needed a safe place to park their money (and Canada is very easy to move to if you're rich). There's 0.0% chance that they would be an effective sleeper cell.

honestly? shit like this is so fucking grim. it really makes my heart sink seeing people post shit THIS absurd and not question it for a second. like, you either need to hate Chinese people so much that you don't care whether this is true or not, or you have to be such a drooling moron that you can't see this as either a) an absurd propaganda story to scare racists and/or b) completely made up. it so demoralising to see people willingly believe this and yet still have that american mindset of "propaganda is something that happens in other places, like china, where everyone is a mindless drone who believes all propaganda, like i keep seeing in the non-propaganda i consume"

It's insane how quickly it worked given a non-insignificant amount of westerners have visited China at some point. I know multiple people who have gone to teach there for a year or two.
