Honestly yeah, some of them are just being unethically consumed under capitalism. Shit sucks. Thats is why soc dems are fash. However untill a revolution looks likely we'd be a fool to make sure no comrade ever gets real money.

If you can get a job writing targeting software for missiles that will be used to kill brown people or doing payroll for the people automating the Holocaust, you can get a job doing that for places that aren't committing acts of unspeakable evil. Similarly if you're janitoring for the former, there are plenty of jobs on the same payscale available rn.

You can't "no ethical consumption" yourself into being an accessory to genocide and expect a pass.

        Stop being reactionary.

but f you can get a job doing that you can probably also ensure non timely delivery of objectives (if you see what i'm saying) :ypg-brace: :chairman-moa-panic:

Yeah, but a bunch if that tech got made by video game people and they were real upset what they found out what their work was used for.

Thinking there is some kinder better way to do capitalism is the trap socdems fall into.

Why are you comparing having your work unknowingly used for mass destruction with actively building the tools of mass destruction?

There's obviously some nuance and that's okay but there's obviously nothing nuanced about using your labor power to directly enable imperialist mass-murder.

You wouldn't give a self-proclaimed leftist a pass for being a cop or for being CIA or for being military brass, so why give a pass to the people who directly enable them by spending 40hr a week building the tools that are used exclusively by them to do their jobs?

"To see someone harming the interests of the masses and yet not feel indignant, or dissuade or stop him or reason with him, but to allow him to continue. This is an eighth type of liberalism."

You're eating out of the garbage can of ideology and Mao says you're a :LIB:

This is where I draw my objection. There are places where they can work in those companies where they aren't doing that. Depending on their trade and specialization it is entirely possible that they could have a job that effetively morally neutral and then be able to do some praxis with thr resources that makes available.

That could also not be the case. Depending on the kind of job one of us will be correct. You do even have the greater chance of being right. I don't think we can honestly make an assessment with the information provided being insufficient.

If I'm doing payroll for someone building bombs, I'm still facilitating the building of bombs. If I'm writing internal software that people use to test changes they make their autonomous drone software, I'm still facilitating drone strikes. If I'm laying the tracks to take people to gas chambers I'm still facilitating genocide.
