He says that the strike was over money and then totally glosses over the fact that killing people over money is regarded as a bad thing by absolutely everyone.

I think if you phrased it the way I did most people would be like "yeah that's a bad thing", but if you asked them if they'd shoot a mugger, they'd also say yes :deeper-sadness:

Supposedly he keeps getting this video flagged under DMCA to try and keep people from seeing it. Wonder how long this particular upload will stay up.

I've heard Ziziek say that tasteless and offensive jokes are a means of traumatized populations dealing with unthinkable atrocities.

If I liked Trevor Noah at all, I might be willing to massage my brain to the point where I could interpret this in that light. But I don't. Fuck him.

This isn't a traumatized person doing some hella healing, he's clearly doing apologia for the police, complete with talking points leveraged at critics and a posteriori justifications for the massacre, all disguised as a comedy monologue. You could extract those talking points and use them in a serious way if you wanted to justify police brutality and it wouldn't be out of place.

And isn't his mother a slumlord in South Africa? So many times, I've thought I couldn't hate the guy more but he just keeps finding ways to reach new lows.

Disgusting anti-worker rhetoric. In Canada, another standoff between the state police and Indigenous Land Defenders is brewing.
