1 million is pretty much a requirement to be able to earn $50k combined with social security
Sigh. Yes, but without pensions what alternative to most people have to survive if they can even afford to save?
I get that "earn" is the correct verb to use, and that's what I'm throwing shade at.
Surely the point is they are class traitors, and that's a good thing, a large amount of important historical revolutionary figures were class traitors that fought for the working classes against their own best interests.
a poster of wealth
I think your overall point is well taken but can we not?
They become the good kind of class traitor when they help me with bills.
I find it very hard to believe there are millionaire posters on this website
If you're like 40 and live in a coastal city, you could have about a million dollars in assets (a house mostly paid off) and it's very well off but not like, hog shit
This site was built by software people, I wouldn't be shocked if one of them was a millionaire.
There's at least one user here making a six figure annual income from the oil and gas industry. At least one. Possibly more.
Next you’ll tell me we have Raytheon posters

It's very possible!
I mean what would it mean to be a class traitor if the west doesn't have an organized working class. There are workers sure but no class for itself.
:this:
I'm not even the worst off here, but there are posters here that could really use financial help. If someone is in the position to help a comrade they should
when they move beyond posting and use their money to destroy capitalism
When we build enough of a party that we cna actually use their money better. Right now if they gave me money I'd enjoy it, but it would ultimately just go to my land lord and not do anyone any good
We have literal millionaires here? And here I was feeling bad about being a disgusting PMC.
On this site??? I doubt it.
Also idk. Theres a line somewhere. Im not really interested in hanging hassan for buying a house. It reminds of the Malcom X quote about community leaders, the one about black celebrities not being them.
I saw someone mention they were a millionaire just the other day, they exist. Considering this site came from a Reddit page for a Brooklyn podcast, it's not too surprising. I got no problem with em as long as they don't cause trouble
millionaires DM me I just want to talk (about how to get a million dollars pls)
Just think, if not for the millionaires, who will upload exclusive podcast episodes? (your username reminded me)
Wait a second it was black wolf feed
I'm sure as fuck not donating money to people richer than me lol. Somebody's got to do it
We have millionaires? Are they 50 year olds with 1.2 million and no pension? Or are they 35 year olds who worked at a start up and got stock options?
Or did they, I hate to even have to think about this… inherit money? (Shudders)
Do we have any landlord posters? Is that more cursed than millionaire posters?
Neera would want you to also shout out the girlboss landladies and the landlxrds
My current commune works like this -
Everyone's name is on the deed so no one can sell unless we all agree and get a cut.. Everyone pays a well below market rate monthly fee (This is not a 'rent' because no individual or entity is being payed for use of the property. Its a fee for the costs of the property existing in its current condition and to the state). The fee pays taxes and the excess is pooled for necessary repairs/upgrades. We get along as like-minded individuals so there's minimal discussion over what is necessary or not. Everyone contributes out of their own pocket for aesthetic stuff like paint in their personal spaces.
I’ll probably meet the choppy boi for this sentiment, but owning a duplex and renting half is more like having room mates than being a landlord
Isn’t a co-op like that?
Depends, does this hypothetical person derive from the rent personal funds to use at their discretion? If so...choppy choppy
We definitely do have landlord posters. I know one from Australia. A socdem too. And take a guess from the amount of upvotes you get when you say stuff like "small mom and pop landlords aren't that bad." Or "Single home landlords aren't that bad"
sucks to suck lmao like stop being poor lol quit splurging on loofas you parasite
Just being rich doesn't make you a class traitor, only when you use your ownership of the means of production to exploit fellow workers for profit (or directly assist someone in doing so). Contrary to popular belief, you don't need to be poor and impoverished to be a socialist, tho it does help you build class consciousness
It depends on a lot of things IMO. A family of five in expensive parts of California could live a generally traditional life in a small/medium house and still technically be a millionaire if you go off housing prices or whatever. The problem there then isn't with them in particular, especially since they're likely just an IT worker or some other shit that's still oppressed and has their value stolen, but rather the outcome that should be aspired to for all.
Every family should have a place to live with access to food, clothing entertainment etc. The issue isn't that someone has it but rather that others do not.
This is different however from the bourgeois and millionaires who make their money off of exploiting labor. People who have butlers or secretaries, land that they will never use, who go through fast fashion at a disgusting rate. They live their life beyond basic rights that should be afforded to all, and do so explicitly by taking those rights from others.
Yeah, I have friends in LA whose rinkadink home is 750k but they can't afford daycare so one parent stays home until both are in school.
