not the greatest quality, but it's nice enough. hopefully it doesn't get taken down before a few of us can appreciate it.

They always are. I think it's a combination of bad direction and using white people that aren't native English speakers.

They annunciate like they're speaking a different language and the words are nonsense. You'd think they'd have someone who is a bit better with English direction come in and help out with the English scenes, but I guess they just don't care because 95% of the people watching this don't speak it lol.

The guy who plays MacArthur has an IMDB page with two listings. Both of them are General MacArthur! I guess he's an expat from OC California who moved to China to start businesses, and occasionally portrays MacArthur.

Even native anglophone actors in Chinese movies often have this same oddness ime

the maoist uprising against the landlords was the largest and most comprehensive proletarian revolution in history, and led to almost totally-equal redistribution of land among the peasantry

Let's be honest, these people that give this film a 10 stars are no critical thinkers and not very educated, they have been brainwash by their own government. The truth is China have been making film and tv series fabricating their own history for decades and they have been very popular, you can still see a lot of them on tv, Chinese killing off Japanese, killing off Western folks, their story, acting and directing are appalling but they get high praise, why? Because it makes the Chinese feel proud of themselves in their own make believe world. Sadly, many of them can't think for themselves and believe what they see is true without doing their own homework, can't blame them, just feel sad for them.

      You weren't kidding

Saw this in theaters a couple days ago. Cheesy as hell (most definitely not going for realism) but the action is fun and it's obviously extremely based. Very satisfying seeing all the Amerikkkans get owned by the heroic PLA troops.

Seems like a movie that would be much more impressive in the cinema than low quality on a small screen
