If you have his phone number and have it tied to social media that directly identifies him, you already have enough to send something to your school's office of student accountability or whatever. Document what you have, write a letter that doesn't call him a cunt, sleep on that letter and read it again in the morning, and send it to the school.

Let them fuck with this asshole for you, and now you have a paper trail if they blow it off and you want to take it to someone else.

sleeping on the letter is very important, too easy to say something you'll regret if you write it in the heat of the moment.

Just find out what their email to SMS is and sign them up for a ton of spam emails. Something similar to this basically.

Here's a website that lists the available ones depending on the cellular provider.
    https://smsemailgateway.com/

By your vocabulary I'm going to guess you're from the UK, here's a site that will list the cellular provider if you enter their number:

    https://portal.aql.com/telecoms/network_lookup.php

Also good luck in your quest to track them down, I have no advice there

Hi, I used to work at a college. They know what their phone numbers are generally, so just let them know what number you're being harassed from.

Social engineering could work. For instance, attempting to message them or call them with a burner phone, pretending to be someone else... I don't really have any idea for scenarios, but in situation like that where all you have is a phone number, sometimes online tools won't be enough, you gotta be clever.

If you can figure out their phone service provider, you could maybe call them with a strategy and try gathering intel from them. Again, I suck social engineering so all I can give you is the basis.

Hell yeah screenshot away and send that shit straight to admissions

If they don't do anything, go to local media

There’s an app called Reverse Lookup that will sometimes give you the name of the person (if their parents pay for the phone then that name might show up instead, but if it’s an unusual name...).

Not terribly accurate in my admittedly limited experience. I put my phone number and my sister's and got zero hits. Put my mom's in and got 8 different hits from all over the country, none of which were her. I searched my name and state/zip and found my correct entry, but at a house I haven't lived in for close to 15 years.

How could they possibly measure "Green Living" and "Charitable Donations" from public records alone?

I was able to use one of those "free reverse phone number lookup services" to figure out who was harassing me back in like 2010. The owner's name was associated with the number and I found out by checking facebook that it was the father of a friend of a recent ex (she must have borrowed his phone or it was bought for her in his name). Once I dropped their name in a text they stopped harassing.

The only problem is that I have tried to use services like this since then, but as far as I can tell every single one of them is either a dubious paid service with no guarantee of info, simply has no info, or is a click-farming website of some kind. I would be interested to know if any other people here are familiar with any that actually work.

Starting university is a good time to focus on personal growth, not stalking a loser homophobe from highschool.

Most people are suggesting that OP has enough info to leave this to the university, which means both of them will be able to focus on personal growth in their own ways.

Or do both? Why can't I devote a couple hours pre uni to getting a homophobe shat on?

You could send the info to the comrades at the local police department. I'm sure they would be happy to help.
