Seriously fuck every musician who agreed to this.

You're fighting a losing battle here. You're right to be concerned, but the show will go on.

Additionally, most of these musicians probably aren't actually rich, so they need to work too. After two years of cancelled shows, they aren't going to turn down a gig.

My millennial/zoomer cusp partner bought tickets to this. GenX music is Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Smashing Pumpkins, Green Day, etc. This festival is 100% targeted al millennials.

Boomers were cooler, millennials had it better than gen x, gen z is absolutely psychopathic and I'm afraid of them.

There is no way that 3 stages is Enough for 60 bands in one day. The set list would be possible if it was just djs swapping, but guitar and drum tuning is slow.

No. It's not happening, half the bands will drop. There will not be refunds. It's a con job by livenation.

They also won't cancel this. As Nevada has to shut it down, and Vegas is business as usual.

Our understanding of viral diseases has reached a point where we know large gatherings of people will spread disease. Put it on the internet FFS!

Pretty sure humanity reached that understanding 100 years ago and we still gather in large geoups. I'm covid risk averse, my partner and I agreed to not socialize with anyone else until our local case positivity rate dropped below 5%, but you're taking this too far, imo. Again, this event is outdoors, 8 months from now. Calm down.

There are large gatherings the size of this festival every day in the US right now at professional sporting events and other xoncerts, I really don't see the point of calling out one music festival almost a yeat from now. Are we going to have a post for every NBA, major college basketball, NHL and NFL game? 2.5 million people rode the MTA on average every day last week, where does that rank on the superspreader scale? The government isn't going to help and people rely on these events to pay rent and feed their families. If you're lucky enough to have a job that allows you to work from home, good for you. Many people do not.

I mean, those things do rate real fucking high on my super spreader scale too. I legitimately get anxious when I'm reminded that sports are still happening and there is no aid in sight.

Are you seriously trying to sit here and say "the chuds go to the sports ball and the government hates us anyways so why can't I go relive my eyeliner days in peace?!??!!!??!!waaaaaaaaaaaa!!!"

              Are you actually ok?

you can just admit your taste in music was stunted in like fifth grade, there's no need to bend over backwards like this

you can just admit you're not actually worried about covid, you just want to feel superior to someone with different music taste than yours, there's no need to bend over backwards like this

I have severely immune compromised family members and personally I'd like to avoid the still-expanding laundry list of potentially permanent effects myself- that is if I were to get it and not be one of the unlucky people who dies even without comorbidities. But also get this! I actually truly don't want anyone else's loved ones to die because someone just HAD to see Avril Levigne in concert during a pandemic either. Seeing the very well-thought-out "b-but no treats FOREVER?" take on here of all places is just very disheartening. Even if you listen to Bright Eyes or whatever we can still be comrades though.

Yeah, to be clear, I'm on the side of don't go to concerts and sporting events right now, it's very much not worth getting sick or worse, getting someone else sick. So I'm with you. But your comment just came off as so very asshole-ish, I had to say something. That's all.

That's very reasonable. A jab at someone's music taste was all I could muster at the time, was going for smarmy but maybe I overshot.

Idk I'm an old zoomer if that makes sense, and older millenial relatives would share this kind of music with me. Not to mention it's the soundtrack to all the videogames I played on my PS2 as a kid.

You can be the cool millenial uncle guiding all the zoomers around lol.

Yeah especially by October. Nothing will change by then. That's enough time that it will have run its course by then or we'll be tormented by a new variant and this will be cancelled. I'm not sure what getting red mad and nude about this 8 months in advance does lol

Need to find an emo millenial niece or nephew to go to the great satan and attend this concert with lmao.

But seriously, unless Americans suddenly start getting vaccinated+boosted, I don't see the covid 19 situation being good enough for something like this, even in October.

Also there's no way the stagehands and technical team will be able to set up for so many bands lmao. Only the headliners will sound good, everyone else will sound like crap. But concerts are more about the experience than the music anyways.
