Yeah, I was noticing that I had my bulletproof vest on and yet the bullets were still hurting me and giving me bruises, so I think I'm gonna take this thing off and just go for it

the press conference will pivot to blaming medical personnel and how important the new bipartisan bill to cap nursing pay and criminalize nurses quitting or calling in sick during designated covid waves or understaffed hospitals

I am now thinking what an American analogue to Goodbye Lenin would be like. Just imagining how Americans would try to cosplay as a functioning polity after the US's collapse.

I like that use of the word "polity". Sometimes at reddit I'll use a word like that and I can get whining like "Look at this redditor using a $10 word." Right-wingers simply don't give a fuck so surely the whiners are libs. For polity I have a reply to them: "How will Americans try to cosplay as a functioning polity after the US's collapse?" And then I can disable replies and be done with it.

I have absolutely no idea what could be contributing to the teacher shortage. People just don't wanna work.

I wonder if this is some bazinga brain stuff to try and be able to respond with “well ackshully” to Republicans in November when they run on “muh freedom” and” Commie Joe closed the schools”, etc

      ”Commie Joe closed the schools”

And it doesn't even matter what Biden does. They're going to call him Commie Joe anyway. The US truly is batshit.

The ratcheting effect is gonna shift from Dems passively not rolling back Republican policy, to trying to out-fash them just so that they can have a yasssssqueen moment on the debate stage. This shit rocks. :doomjak:

Biden: "We are with the police..."

GOP ghoul chorus: "BLOOD AND SOIL!"

On election day MNSBC experts try to explain the dems defeat across the board: "The economy is very strong. It seems that democratic messaging was lacking in some way..."

Rich white assholes hate masks, so it's time to return to normal. This totally won't backfire when there is another pandemic wave before the next election. I guess that's why they are "adjusting" how they count hospitalizations and deaths from covid, so they can pretend herd immunity works.

I was wondering when the VA dems would betray me! They had been doing a pretty good job in the senate keeping most of the insane anti-book laws from passing but there it is.
