      quaffing Soviet champagne

her friend and her friend's husband benefitted from loosing this fucking clown as a friend. that means more Soviet champagne for them. (for real I enjoy that shit, it's cheap and tasty because the Soviets wanted to decommodify luxury products for the common folks to enjoy them on a more regular occasion. Also to fuck with the boogie-ass frenchie frog surrender-monkeys. Gonna be pissed if Belarus, the last place that still grows and produces Soviet Champagne as it was originally intended, goes under sanction and I CAN'T GET MY FUCKIN' TREATS)

I remember the evenings spent with her and her husband, quaffing Soviet champagne and mocking the nightly TV news, Vremya, with its state-controlled version of events. How could she now be so uncritical of Putin’s state-run media?

Western "journalist" fails to see that corporate-run media is just state-run media with extra steps.

Well, one extra step really; instead of the State Department just writing the news directly themselves, they dictate it to a crowd of unquestioning reporters

I am enjoying the Liberal Free Press obsession rapidly collapse under the grave threat of the truth being almost impossible to find, contradictory, and uncomfortable to actually process.

Why the sad emoji, we already knew they don't just want a lot of money... they want ALL THE MONEY. Knowing that is why we're on this forum.

    The comments are quite interesting

Probably worth putting some simple questions to her. If Ukraine is full of Nazis why has it elected a Jewish president? If it's just a special military operation why has the Russian government turned off all foreign media and domestic liberal media? Do McDonald's support Nazis? I know many Russians are unable to come to terms with what's going on but commonsense must surely suggest it's all a bit fishy.

    :michael-laugh:

"The populations of Luhansk, Donetsk and Crimea are overwhelmingly Russian." They were probably quite favourably inclined towards Russia until the shelling started and Putin sent in the Chechins and Syrians.

The uncritical and unquestioning acceptance of autocratic leadership is as Russian as pelmeni. Russia is not a Western nation. Westerners share a host of clearly identifiable values amongst which are pluralism and freedom of thought and speech. Western is not the same as European. Russians are European in one sense but they are not Westerners. Japan and Australia are Western nations but not European. Autocracy, dictatorship, despotism and it has to be said extreme violence in pursuit of imperial aims have been a factor in Russian life for centuries. One should expect Russians to be this way and not assume that Russia is fertile territory for Western values, or for any kind of liberalism at all apart from capitalist liberalism which they enjoy the fruits of.

Being very worked up over the list of internet dots with names next to them that are linked to an internet dot with my name next to it.

Incidentally, no. I do not know the names of half my next-door neighbors and I doubt I ever will.

This author is just trying to win in a bad take competition with that one article that said you shouldn't be friends with depressed people because they harsh your #grindset, but in this case it's don't have friends with different viewpoints that are inspired by their lived experience lest they quell your bloodthirstyness

There is no scenario where an article needs to be written over unfriending someone on facebook.
