As if anyone else needed another reason to be a “tankie”

The #1 news source in the US has an article on their front page advocating parents’ rights to invalidate/traumatize their children amerikkka

This hit me hard because my parents emotionally abused the hell out of me and that’s a common occurrence for kids growing up in bigoted households

Really telling that not a single word is spent on explaining if the child wanted to live with her parents or not.

      Trigger warning: child abuse

      spoiler

I grew up with my parents beating the hell out of me whenever I did whatever measly shit out of turn. They’d threaten to call the cops on me/would beat me with various household items when I had meltdown, and I just had to take it because I was a minor Godamn if only I had found a way out. Granted my parents are much more progressive now, but the damage has been done and I’ll probably be in therapy for the rest of my life. To think that is also going to be a reality for countless others? Unconscionable

I’m trying to remain hopeful, but chuds have hitched themselves to this bigotry bandwagon and as they continue to grow even more fascist, dems will follow suit. Dark times

When you say they are more progressive now, have they acknowledged that they were wrong?

I sincerely doubt the misgendering was the only factor here, these parents had to have been doing alot worse than that for the state to get involved.

This framing is so fucking nefarious. It’s in no uncertain terms claiming that children are a piece of property to be treated however parents see fit and seeing complete invalidation of someone’s humanity as an “ideological disagreement”

Literally treating the state of Indiana like the caricature of the government in God’s not dead 5 or whatever

This is nothing new, conservatives have always viewed children as property.

They tend to randomly start defending assault and battery against children unprompted. I have to wonder if they just spend hours every day fantasizing about “disciplining” kids like the psycho fucks they are

Nah, they just called their child 'son' one time and the pronoun police rolled up, breached their front door, and tased both parents before dragging them to the cop cars

Even among major American media outlets, Fox stands as a particularly deranged publication

the pronoun police rolled up, breached their front door, and tased both parents before dragging them to the cop cars

And then they shot the eagle who was formerly known as "small government", and the blackboard was destroyed (quite jewishly)

Tearing a child away from loving parents because of their religious beliefs, which are shared by millions of Americans, is an outrage to the law, parental rights, and basic human decency.

Look at how they try to spin this as a religious thing and not a transphobic thing. Once again pretending as if cishet white Christians are the real victims here. The wall is too good for Rupert Murdoch, he deserves the pit.

I wish for these people to know that I do not care about millions of americans, the law, parental rights, or basic human dignity

Couldn’t believe my fucking eyes when I saw that one of the top ten most theocratic fascist states in the US made a good point

And of fucking course Fox News is the first outlet to pick it up and frame the agency underlying said point as a bad thing

Ya know, it seemed like at the beginning this war on gender was a non-issue for most republicans, but it’s seeming more and more like a throw enough shit at the wall and it’s going to stick type of situation. Also helps to have terfs in both segments of the duopoly

If you repeat something enough people will start to believe it etc
