because they're Swedish I can't tell if the developers are simply trying to make some quick money by slapping a contentious issue on their otherwise mediocre game or if they're legitimate hogs stirring the pot out of ideological commitment

i think the fact that I can't tell means there's no real distinction

more importantly, gaming is an international subculture where people from all over the world share online spaces that fascists agitate in all the time, which ofc includes sharing the story of Hitlerjunge Kyle.

Literally the spanish phrase: "¿La culpa es del chancho o del que le da de comer?"

The whole region of Scandinavia should be carpet-bombed several times over like a thousand Dresdens until they promise not to make any more video games or media in general. Minecraft was enough now please leave us the fuck alone.

People don't buy this for the gameplay, they do it to get a cultural marker, symbolising their chuddiness. And as such I think it works really well, the hogs are getting their money's worth.

That's really fair. But I promise people are worth believing in. Otherwise what's even worth fighting for?

The problem isn't that theres too much democracy but the opposite, that there's not enough. Most propaganda of hate would not be as popular as it is if spreading it was up to the people, it's just a select few ruining things so they can spread discord and prevent us from rising up. The only way we win this is with overwhelming love for people and understanding of why they got to how they are so we can help them.

Remember 'Hatred'? Hyped up news and everyone talking about how dangerous it was because it promoted mass shootings or something... shoot cops yada yada. On release everyone realized it was just an edgefest and forgot about because it had zero substance or worthwhile content. This is just looks a new "hatred" with even less money thrown at it, and less attention being given to it.

Also, the developer is "Nordic Empire Games" :cringe:

There's a game called Hentai Mission Ukraine where you run around as an anime girl shooting Russian soldiers and Putin. The only soundtrack is the Ukrainian national anthem I think and one of the reviews says it only plays once, likely because the devs don't expect anyone to play it for more than a few minutes.

yeah I saw this at the top of the Steam page a while ago. The creators are Swedish, which is always weird to see American fascist ideology spread around so far.

i haven't figured out why yet the chud consensus is all leftist agitation is the result of media brainwashing. I guess that's an easier conclusion than believing there are legitimate social and economic problems that cause riots. No, it has to be the TV man telling you to be angry, and you're stupid and so you believe him.

you seem to have a weird American exceptionalism at play where Americans somehow don't believe foreigners can do bad things or have right wing opinions on their own and require corrupting by American influence

There’s only one way to find out, really.

Based on the precedent I’ve observed, pretty much the only thing Steam won’t publish is sexual content involving minors (the 1000 year old dragon excuse doesn’t work) or sexual content where the models didn’t consent to having their likeness in the game. Aside from that, if it’s legal in the US it can be published.

Yeah, it would be a true test in how commited Valve to free speech really is. Maybe it'll make Gaben took off is aloof king on the mountain persona and have him took a more hands on approach to keep Steam marketable. Maybe it'll be a nuclear option and make Valve clamps down on all overtly political game. Maybe Valve really was true to their words and gamers lost their shit over June 4th Incident: The REAL Story.

Not gonna lie, isn't it somewhat disturbing that once when more media got in the hands of everyday people. Youtube is little more than Republican Hollywood, and the general new media paradigm is biased in favor of conservatives? Don't get me wrong, legacy media sucks ass but at least they pretended to not want me dead.

I'm not saying this in an anti-populist way, but moreso that consent is so manufactured we are willingly brainwashing ourselves because it feels good.
