My favorite part of this is that the lunch eggs can be "poached if necessary". What do they mean, "necessary"? When they are prescribing a diet they could just tell us to eat 2 hard-boiled eggs for lunch, but instead they pause and concede that it may be impossible to have the lunch eggs be hard-boiled for some unspecified reason.

The breakfast egg is non-negotiable too, if you eat a poached egg at 8am on day 3 you will literally die

my only guess here is that eggs still inside the shell were harder to find around lunchtime back in the 70s, and so they're like well you already have boiling water, right? might as well poach a couple of shell-less eggs that you had lying around

Poaching takes less time than completely hard boiling so if you were in a rush, you can shave off roughly 180 seconds of cooking time to give you extra time during your lunch break, which in the 1970's I assume is roughly 2.5 hours

That's an 17 500 calorie deficit in 3 days, to lose 5lbs of fat in that timeframe (1lb is around 3 500 calories). Or a 5800 calorie deficit a day. A physically impossible deficit. Even eating nothing won't accomplish such a deficit. You won't lose much, if any fat on this diet, most of the weight loss will be from dehydration and drying out. So temporary. It will also make all your muscles look flaccid and flat as they will be completely depleted of glycogen on this zero carb diet. Which is usually the opposite of what you want, even for women. There's a reason why bodybuilders combine drying out/dehydration with eating tonnes of carbohydrates at the end of a carb loading phase, to make their muscles look full.

Built so different that the laws of thermodynamics don't apply, such is the power of shitty pop dieting and workout advice.

Maybe they were just constipated with 5 pounds of egg and beef and the coffee finally dislodged it

Wait is my diet of 2 (two) pints of Guinness, 10 (ten) shots of hard liquor, 3 (three) liters of tap water, and 0 (zero) food intake 24 hrs every once a week is not a good for my health?

Yeah I once did this semi-unintentionally because I had a lot eggs that were starting to go so I boiled them all. It wrecked my digestive tract.
