How to prevent absolute ghouls from blaming a bunch of dead elementary schoolers for not fighting back hard enough while their grieving parents haven't even put them in the ground:

    1. No more "free press".

    2. Seriously, fuck your free speech, you fucking demons.

    3. All journalists must report for mandatory re-education.

    4. All journalists accredited at Fox News immediately get the wall.

    5. Tucker's reaction to the firing squad is Fox News' last live broadcast.

"freedom" is a mistake. authoritarianism is good and most people want it, even the "anti-authoritarians." The debate is just on how it should be used: to stop the wealthy and racists, or use it to blame immigrants and the poor for literally everything while stating Christianity is the only true religion.

Your anger is misplaced. Freedom is good. Freedom over your workplace and your livelihood is the goal remember. The hyper-individualization of the American population is an explicitly capitalist feature that is used to make people feel disconnected from a larger community that might be able to push back against the existing structures.

why not make school hallways a labyrinth to trap the shooter in as he won't be able to find his way and will be trapped forever

if we're getting weird with it we should try at least one greek myth

You joke but I'm 90% sure I read that new schools are designed with hallways that don't provide a long corridor.

edit : Fruitport, Mich., designed a $48 million high school that includes curved hallways and half-walls to protect students, teachers and staff.

Go on then. Let's condense and review.

1 through 6, 8 through 10, 12, 13, 22, 39, 40, 49 and 50 are all obviously the same, arm every living person to the teeth. Give everybody, their grandmother, and their toddler baby, a gun, gotcha.

7, 27 and 46 is lol, Policemen already exist, get universally praised and an insane amount of resources and did nothing to help. So those will have to be just chucked out.

    11, 19, 21, 23, 24, 26, 31, 32, 33, 35 through 38, 43, 48 I'm afraid all fall under the blanket of "What the fuck are you talking about", they're mind-bogglingly irrelevant or too nonsensical to implement, chuck 'em.

13 through 18, 28, 30, 41, 42, and 45, turn all schools into a metal fortress of solitude/army base/prison. Because we all know nobody dies in internal battles in army bases and prisons.

29 is just funny. Yeah, let's do it. I want to see a would-be bad man come all prepared and be like "whoopsie" and he falls over and crisis averted.

34, 44, 47. Though 44 is based in conservative swill, the overall sentiment is 'Maybe people shouldn't feel like they have to do this?', so with generous interpretation, we can grant these as sensible!

    We're left with

    1. Give everybody (including children) guns and gun training
    2. Make schools into army bases/prisons.
    3. Why not tripwires?
    4. Mental health care.

Given 1 and 2 are perhaps prohibitively expensive, impractical, and guarantee worsening the situation, I suggest sticking with number 4. Maybe 3 too if that fails.

There we go, 3/50 ain't a bad agreement rate for Fox.

The school already had 1 through 6 and they weren't helpful.

In fact I was just looking through a list of unsuccessful school shootings and it's incredibly rare for the attack to be foiled after it already began. The only times I'm seeing where the shooter is apprehended before they kill anyone are:

      • Another student informed a cop or teacher about the shooter's plans weeks ahead of time
      • The weapon jammed or failed to detonate

Thought my Dad would have some sense, empathy and rational thought about this when I texted him. Told him this shit only happens in this country and that I hated it for that.

He’s been in FLA now for over two decades, and succumbed to becoming “born again” with my mother. They watch Fox all day and their whole social life together is their church.

    He texted back this:

“Unfortunately guns have been in existence since the 10th Century so, just maybe it’s the evil that uses then improperly. The demonic aspects of gun violence dig deep into the spirit of people that have no regard for the love of God for us. “

I fucking flipped. So my formerly liberal-minded father now regurgitates RW reactionary bullshit about everything. So it’s “not guns that kill people but people who don’t God”?

“If you look at evil and spiritual warfare then look at it in other contexts of desecration to God; why does China send Fentanyl to Cartels then compounded into opioids illegally move here killing hundreds of thousands, mostly young people and now that your a father you might even see the entire abortion issue from a different perspective. In the eyes of God it’s the demonic spirit of self over God and more about destruction of good. “

    Wtf?

Told him he’s fucking warped. And not to talk to me about this stuff ever again.

Completely, utterly poisoned by Fox propaganda and Conservative Christian fascism.

    So sad.

this is philosophical suicide, this is somebody who doesn't want to face reality and blames their problems on figments of their imagination.

Yeah, he’s fed this irrational fear-mongering from everywhere he looks. Including things like Epoch Times (or whatever that RW newspaper is) , from which he sometimes sends actual paper clippings.

The China hysteria seems to have gripped him hard in the past few years. Think he admitted he belongs to a reading group or something based on concerns about Chinese hegemony. So I love to tell him as often as necessitates that I can’t wait for the American Empire to collapse.

Uvdale already had school cops with guns and they failed to prevent anything. Except I've read some stuff where they got their own kids out of the school first, then locked the doors. Then prevented anyone from going inside. They did trap the shooter like a rat, they trapped him inside a classroom with a teacher and a dozen kids.

most conservative stances rely on believing there are inherently good people who are superhuman and can recognize inferior bad people in an instant. Also that inherently good people will have aligned interests and will know how to coordinate with one another against the bad people. Oh, but good people don't need training or organization to know this. They just know, because they're good people with guns and they have superior Judeo-Christian values and prayed together and were raised properly.

That's the entire ideology behind giving teachers guns and hiring more school cops, or giving the kids guns. They'll simply know an instant who the bad guy is and execute plan alpha delta bravo and shoot him before there's even trouble. Conservatives desperately want to believe in pre-crime.
