This is more a dunk on me than anything. I hate reddit.

Probably not, but I think you can rebel as New Africa and then enslave Dixie culture.

This would not be a crime against humanity, friend.

    some positive comments getting upvoted.

I replied to the one of the guys mocking you (he said ‘No, no, hear me out. Slavery isn’t wrong if they deserve it!’) with the 13th amendment. I can't believe he actually thinks there isn't already an existing form of legal slavery in the US.

there isn’t already an existing form of legal slavery in the US.

I feel like this isn't widely acknowledged. If you have a moral stand against slavery, and no that the drug war is bullshit, putting 2+2 together results in the realization that the US is still a slave society, and that cops are kidnapping people in to slavery. If you take it one further and learn that many nations consider slavers to be "Notorious Enemies of All Mankind", subject to drumhead trial and immediate execution, you arrive at some inconvenient conclusions.

This is now my goal in the game. It will be the equivalent of reverse-crusading Catholics as a pagan in CK2.

I'm definitely creating a mod to do this.

      • Set Afro-americans to accepted and promote them to owners of plantations
      • Set Dixie to oppressed. Set pop growth to 0.
      • End institution of slavery once Dixie pop total hits 0.

I started as a Muslim in Iberia and brought all of France to Islam in a great jihad.

The downside of being a Muslim is that you can't sacrifice the pope to the blood gods because there aren't any. It's just some guy.

You can play as the Lithuanians in Medieval II Total War: Kingdoms. Victory condition in their campaign does not include sacking Rome and Constantinople... but why not do that too?

I hate this post; I haven't posted on reddit in 10 months and literally broke that record just to quote to someone who was mocking a guy suggesting slavers should be enslaved (he was like 'no no no, slavery's okay if they deserve it') the 13th amendment.

I really didn't want to get sucked in to that toilet of chuds.

lmao of course Paradox players normally love these kinds of ironic alt histories, just not when it hits a little too close to home.

Reminds me when a group of leftists making a HOI4 mod about an alt history American civil war in the 60s (Bring the War Home) tried to interview Raymond Luc Levasseur for research, and the HOI4 community absolutely lost their shit because "he's a terrorist". The mod got kicked out of a modding co-op, essentially getting embargoed from the modding community at large, and I think the lead dev have to resign because of it.

This is despite the fact that HOI4 community love to make mod that platforms even the most insanely obscure Nazis and dredges up their near-forgotten manifestos and basically publishes them in their mod for the sake of "content" and "accuracy". Just look at TNO* literally digging up multiple hyperobscure Russian fascists and conducting deep research into the forgotten corners of the Russian internet to get their writings. And of course, there's the level of insane detail they gave to the famous Nazis.

      * fun fact: PinkPanzer literally consulted :funny-clown-hammer: when writing leftism in the mod

They never teach you about the cool shit in highschool history. Probably because "We stole two years of this guys life for Marijuana and then he basically became real-life batman fighting against Apartheid" would have teenagers rooting for the wrong side.

Paradox's "Grand Strategy" game set from 1850-1920. Sort of like Civ, but a lot more complicated (not always in a good way). Gameplay-wise it's real-time with pause, and very similar same to Paradox's other games (Crusader Kings 3, Europa Universalis 4, Stellaris if you want to check them out). Gameplay is about building up your country's productive forces to better enable them to conquer/colonize as much land as possible.

To be honest, the top comments in that thread are happily exploring the idea. The second top even provides a solution to enslaving Dixie culture. So I'm not sure what the issue is here.
