Shuddering at the possibility of a real life American Union State as we steadily move towards balkanization. Hoping a CSA-like collective of socialist orgs/parties will be there to step up to the plate 😬

we've got to awaken class conciousness folks! every last chud you see is just a beer drinking son of a gun like you are. they're lumpen, champ, they don't realize they have more in common with their fellow worker than these wallstreet bankers.

well dang, you know.... I shouldn't have said that.... some chuds probably can't be redeemed. I'd bet a buffalo nickel though that most could! who's going to take me up on that? I swear to Mary I'll do push ups until someone taps in. :dem:

Right there with you from the deepest part of the south. Think I've met two other actual leftists in my life living here. One killed themselves and the other moved away and took on a new life and persona after an attempted suicide.

I finally have enough resources to leave here in the fall and it feels like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

I live in South Carolina (more specifically the suburbs in the coastal region), so I already live in the birthplace of the Confederacy (who my great-great-grandfather fought for), Strom Thurmond, and Jim Clyburn, among others. You can only pick between republicans pretending to be libertarian, the most fascist republicans in the party, and democrats who attempt to reach out to the endangered never-trump crowd by having at least one of them in all of their ads. My representative is one of the “anti-establishment” Dems, which means that he isn’t afraid to criticize the party, as long as that criticism isn’t from the left. The zoomers such as me are either LGBT comrades (me), PE kids who have never thought about politics in their life, or edgelord chuds who most likely were indoctrinated by their parents with subscriptions to seventeen weapon catalogs.

      TL;DR: Pain. Absolute pain.

i live in better carolina with the mountain folk. This mechanic I knew named squirrel got stopped for like registration and represented himself in court on some sovereign citizen shit and they dismissed his citation. I had to refund my derision.

It sucks but at least you're the big fish in the little pond because everybody is ignorant and they all have diabetes. My ex was a high school drop out and she was always telling me how smart I was. little did she know...

I grew up in SC, in Columbia and what a mother fucker that place is. One of the hardest drinking towns I've ever been in. Full of the worst kind of frat culture, lawyers who wear bowties, and military people from fort jackson. Honestly feel like I'd have ended up in jail or drank myself to death if I'd stayed there. My advice is try to get out if you can. Team up with a friend or two and move to a decent sized city.

Obviously some people's experiences differ based on the discrimination they could face, but I'd much rather live in the rural south than the DC suburbs
