The media is exhausting. Providing context is literally part of journalism. But they love to put that shit behind a paywall with article titles like "What the Supreme Court Border Ruling REALLY Means".
At some point, it will probably go that route. For now, I'm guessing that its more about giving Border Patrol authority to do things without needing to ask anybody.
i did a dive at one point, if i had sources written down for half the shit i say id have written a book at this point lmao. there was a court ruling on the effective range of the border patrol at one point
fyi its actually bigger than this because airports are considered borders

I was about to comment, but you got here first.
Airports, I think specifically ones that take international flights, are considered ports of entry.
also any airports that do layovers or whatever for international flights. so almost any airport really, even ones in the middle of the country

Citing your sources is for nerds. Just say it came to you in a dream.

Do you have a link? I saw a tweet that said that too but I googled and I got nowhere.
>A port of entry (POE) is a place where one may lawfully enter the nation. International airports are usually ports of entry, as are road and rail crossings on a land border, and major seaports. U.S. Customs and Border Protection enforces the import and export regulations and immigration programs of the U.S. government. The Department of Agriculture also performs inspections to protect the U.S. from potential carriers of animal and plant pests or diseases that could cause serious damage to crops, livestock, pets, and the environment. This search includes documents from other agencies with related immigration, border protection, and customs responsibilities.
got it.
Thanks.

Oh fuck, ICE is going to need a fat ass check to make sure they get to go full Darth Vader 100 miles radially out from every international airport.
