To be fair the nazis probably learned it from either the British or the Americans, so it's more of a vicious cycle

Ah yes, starting from the waning world imperial power vs starting from a near-feudal regional power with widespread poverty. Very comparable, good logic :reddit-logo:.

Incidentally, one saved the other from the Nazis in this time period. You'll never guess which one!

One of them also sent troops to Greece, Malaysia, Indonesia and Korea to prevent actual Communists from taking power. Attlee also did all he could to crush the Iranian workers movement, and even considered directly invading the country to seize refineries after Mosaddegh nationalized the oil sector (being stopped only because the US said no).

But which of the two gets called a Tankie?

How the fuck do you learn about the first world war, hear about the interlocking system of treaties that precipitated the involvement of countries in that world war, and then decide "hell yeah that worked at preventing war, let's do another".

Full employment is fundamentally impossible under the neoliberal paradigm and is generally disastrous for capital

Kay, but the USSR managed to guarantee jobs for its whole history and made it a right in their constitution (based Stalin constitution)... the UK couldn't even manage until the 80s.
