well if America does ever get that dysfunctional it will essentially mean that there is no American state anymore as the state at it's fundamental level is a body of armed men enforcing the ruling class's will. Environmental stuff is actually like the one thing that DeSantis isn’t the worst person in the world on. I think for totally cynical reasons: Our economy is entirely funded by tourism, not extractive industries or manufacturing, and tourists don’t like gross polluted places.
