A @CBSNews poll found that 49 percent of men approve of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v Wade and 51 percent disapprove of overturning it. By comparison, 33 percent of women approve and 67 per cent disapprove. https://t.co/r5bZ8NxCym— Eric Michael Garcia (@EricMGarcia) June 26, 2022
I've posted about this before, :stupidpol: have you not been following me?
1 So for example 60% of people support Roe yet less than 50% support access in the 1st trimester "when the woman does not want the child for any reason". That tells me less people support Roe than think they do.
2 "61% of Americans say abortion should be legal in most or all circumstances in the first trimester of a pregnancy. However, 65% said abortion should usually be illegal in the second trimester" again less people support Roe than think they do.
3 and this one is just funny to me, "One-Third Of U.S. Adults Are Not Sure If Roe v. Wade Has Been Overturned By The Supreme Court, Few Say It Already Has".
you don't understand how made up the notion of public opinion is. To the extent that the public has an opinion it is rife with inconsistencies and contradictions.
I don't find polls like the OP's hard to believe at all.
PS: I didn't realize that the WSJ already wrote something that said exactly what I just did. Just read that.
