I remember being gaslit all through 2020 about how Biden would "heal the divide" and "return things to normalcy". Where the fuck is that? Voting for Dems doesn't even stop bad shit from happening like it used to, thanks to the succ court. I can't wait for leftists to be vindicated and blamed for being too damn right in 2024.

how Biden would “heal the divide”

"heal the divide" is code for "doing things the republicans want to satiate their fundamentally insatiable and infinite appetite for ghoulishness"

Even just the idea that it would hold off the Republicans to allow people to organise didn't work out

Someone pointed out that Biden’s birth was closer to Lincoln’s (2nd) inauguration than his own inauguration.

What a long strange trip it has been

Had the hard talk with my dipshit lib friends about this. Here's how it went down.

Me: The insane right is destroying your concept of normal, whether Dems are in office or not. If the Dems respond the conservatives will go apeshit, but if the Dems do nothing the right goes apeshit anyways. Regardless, the Dems don't do anything, and haven't done anything in 40+ years. Biden is hated by Dem voters for not doing shit and by Republicans because he's a Democrat.

    Them: You're right.

Me: So what are you going to do about it?

Them: WELL IF EVERYONE JUST VOTED BLUE THE NEXT ELECTION...

That's about when I turned off my brain and went back to drinking mixed whiskey drinks.

Libs have a hard time picturing a different way because they like the idea of the institutions more than they care about the material consequence of them and because they're usually pretty comfortable with the status quo - even if it means they aren't getting everything they want. I dunno what's gonna shake them out of this, hopefully we don't have to wait for a worse crisis than the last few years...

He's just going to take that to mean he's the underdog and needs to run. Democrats will find literally any reason for him to run again if he can still appear alive

      there's no way

the man barely managed the 2020 run, he'll fuckin die of a heart attack on stage if they try to put him in a debate for 2024

Their egos overpower logic. The DC bubble is truly deluded and they will absolutely push him through and tell him that he's the people's champion.

I think there aren’t going to be any more debates because the ones with trump and biden were too embarrassing for the bourgeoisie.

They'll wheel him out, Reagan style, and if you question his capacity as an administrator then you'll be labeled as a Russian bot and exiled from social media.

I don't think so at all, I'm sorry. She's gotten into so many stupid fights she didn't have to, she supported Ukraine, she supported Israel, she let the disingenuous dogs tear into Omar, she's been totally unable to apply any pressure to the house for left legislation, etc.

And more importantly, she's still in the Democratic party. As they've shown from Bernie, if you're not part of the fundraising club and aren't willing or able to scratch the right backs, they won't give you the nomination. If it came down to Bernie (who also shouldn't run in 2024) vs Biden, they'd make it so Biden was the nominee again and they'd take the loss. The best thing I can say about her running is that "it probably doesn't matter either way". Either she's Obama 2.0 or the JSOC member that they'll have behind her at all times helps her commit suicide, and VP Neera Tanden takes the wheel.

Ship's going down regardless. Thank god.

Im not trying to be mean or demeaning I just think we are spinning our wheels to not do the thing that is hard. :pain:

What if I said its not even close to the worst its gonna get much worse, food shortages, power outages, etc is the slow death we are experiencing worth it? 2 years time Sodomy ban after abortion ban, next year nation wide, after that interracial ban. The camps already exists.

There are good people all around you just have to talk to them, im in a red state that triggered lawed, people listen to me now shit is changing people who ignored me 4 weeks ago about Ukraine, socialism, facism are listening to me now. Im telling you material conditions change people it was almost like a switch turned on a vibe shift. Libs I could not reach can now be reached.

If things ever chill out, even for a moment, libs will go back to being libs. The same thing happened in 2020.

My country has already reached the point the US is eventually going to, food shortages and all. Libs and wealthy conservatives live very comfortably in heavily guarded communities while a large number scramble whatever they can to live off of.

In some ways it seems better for republicans to be in charge because at least then libs pretend to care and will sometimes even join protests, even if they usually only do so to act as the tone police. The lib media is also generally more critical of things as well when the more impolite fascists are at the wheel. Sometimes I think that the George Floyd protests partly happened because the lib media saw that his death could be useful in fucking with trump.

What's coming after the collapse is going to destroy a generation mentally and leave scars that will take generations to not pass down , but I can't think of anything more cruel than more years of this.

I like her more than most of this site, but no one likes her outside her district. rightos hate her of course. centroids hate her for being too extreme. libs hate her for not bending the knee enough. internet leftists hate her for bending the knee too much. most of america hates her because she's a latina. she generally doesn't have the experience or political savvy to overthrow neoliberalism. the party wouldn't have to do the shit they did to Bernie, she's already lost.

45 percent said Biden should not make another bid because he is a bad president, while about one-third of respondents said he is too old and about one-quarter said because it is time for a change.

What about if you think he's a bad president, too old, and it's time for a change? :hillgasm:
