Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Add to the above list if you can, thank you.

Resources For Understanding The War Beyond The Bulletins

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map, who is an independent youtuber with a mostly neutral viewpoint.

Moon of Alabama, which tends to have good analysis (though also a couple bad takes here and there)

Understanding War and the Saker: neo-conservative sources but their reporting of the war (so far) seems to line up with reality better than most liberal sources.

Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict and, unlike most western analysts, has some degree of understanding on how war works. He is a reactionary, however.

On the ground: Patrick Lancaster, an independent journalist reporting in the Ukrainian warzones.

Unedited videos of Russian/Ukrainian press conferences and speeches.

Telegram Channels

Again, CW for anti-LGBT and racist, sexist, etc speech, as well as combat footage.

    Ukraine envoy to the EU:

“Every Russian national applying for a visa abroad should be asked if they support the war in Ukraine, those Russians who support this genocidal war ... should not get access to the free world.”

When you aren’t free to enter the free world based on nationality

Genocide is when a group I don’t like does something I don’t like. I’m not sure how the definition could be more clear

Another at best dumb suggestion that if applied consistently would make basic shit impossible cause of having to interrogate people for 3 hours about everything their country is guilty of.

Also wouldnt you just lie, especially since these people think Russian brainpans inherently make Russians more dishonest and indifferent to life, like "Oh did anyone you are related to do a war crime?" "no.", like what the fuck are you supposed to do after that, are you gonna require Russians to provide detailed evidence as to their and their families activities and communications since the beginning of the war?

I think that they're trying to North Korea-ize Russia, where any claim, no matter how obviously false and batshit, is instantly believed by people because Westerners have been ludicrously propagandized against that country.

In this case, I think they're implicitly drawing upon the hilariously insane idea that Russians, like North Koreans and Chinese people, have some kind of microchip or listening device or some kind of brainwashing supervisor on them at all times that records everything they say and do to their totalitarian government, and that if they say a forbidden word or phrase (Tiananmen Square! Winnie the Pooh!), even far away from their country, then the government will hear them and punish them and their family.

I can already imagine liberals airdropping flash drives into Russia with pirated movies thinking they are undermining the Putler regime when in reality they are violating western sanctions

I can't wait to load up my plane with ten thousand USB sticks each filled with the entire West Wing series and go and fly over Russia to try and airdrop them and get shot down 500 feet into the border and cause World War 3

You mean to say that Ukraine is proposing fascist, nationality based discrimination that is riddled with contradiction? I’m shocked

Doesn't you already have to check a box saying that you're not a terrorist when entering the US? This is even more stupid. At least the US security theatre is about something real, ie. safety from terrorist attacks, whereas this Ukrainian proposal is "virtue signalling theatre". It doesn't even pretend to keep you safe, it pretends to keep people with bad thoughts out.

Cool when are we doing the same thing for Americans for their support of their genocidal wars in Yemen, Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Korea, Libya, Syria and Palestine?

Nothing new. The following is literally on the US immigration application —

“Have you EVER been a member of, or in any way affiliated with, the Communist Party or any other totalitarian party (in the United States or abroad)?"

I'm getting a mental image of a tourist sweating over whether or not the ideology of the party he's a member of qualifies as "totalitarian"
