Lmao when's the last time a US company got fined 8 billion for anything, Raytheon could nuke NYC and it'd be like 20 million

Nuke NYC? How would supply chains in the US even work without bodegas?

without authentic NYC Boydengas, all the convenience stores of North America will cease to exist because we will all forget how to exchange money for fizzy drinks and cat food without Zoo York broadcasting to tell us how they do things 24-7.

The natural conclusion to the conflict of the bodega cats debate.

No no it's true the CCP showed up with a big flying saucer over his house and a big green light beamed out from the bottom of the saucer and then Xiao floated up from his bed into the saucer

He was going to be arrested in China, but his insiders tipped him off and he "fled" to Hong Kong. Not the brightest, since Hong Kong is still part of China and they arrested him there. I guess that's why it's an "abduction", supposedly the law didn't allow for extradition from Hong Kong to the mainland due to the autonomy of HK. This was before the national security law and HK riots (he was arrested in 2017).

Well you see, the Chinese police showed up to his house in the middle of the night without warning him beforehand that they were going to arrest him. American cops would never do something so underhanded!

Arrest isn't a neutral word exactly, but they spend so much time training the public to think that arrests are (almost) always deserved so they don't want the risk that people think a billionaire deserves such treatment

A semiconductor tycoon, Tsinghua Unigroup’s Zhao Weiguo, was reported last month by business publication Caixin to have been taken from his home and put under investigation.

Lol yeah. They framed it as if the dude wasn't arrested. From the media that says "officer involved shooting" when a pig kills someone.

Reuters reported at the time that Xiao was last seen being whisked from his luxury hotel in a wheelchair with his head covered, despite nothing wrong with his legs.

The head covering is bad if the cops did it, rather than the "famous person trying to deny paparazzi photos" thing, but wheelchair is a better alternative to frog marching. $100m in bribes is no joke, get owned

Lmao at the article trying to play up his connections to Xi and his family, like that doesn’t make it even more based that a businessman worth 6 billion dollars can just be blackbagged and put on trial for corruption

I think this sort of double speak is hilarious. If Xi were to avoid people close to him and his family, he’d be painted as corrupt as commies naturally are, but since it’s the opposite, he’s painted as some monster who wouldn’t hesitate to target those close to him.

Reminds me of that article that painted Castro badly because he started land redistribution with his own family’s properties.

This is good. But China need to reform it law to deter this from happening in the first place. Send a message to the bourgeois that obscene money making scheme through corruptions are over. If you want to make money, better do honest work and build physical product that useful for nation and society

I mean tbh they could also host a private meeting with all the billionaires and stream footage of the latest bourgeoisie execution with Xi staring them down and then say "fucking mind yourselves darlings, you're all on short fucking leashes".
