The statue is honestly really sick, it shows christ resurrecting out of a nuclear crater, not sure why they made it the centerpiece of the official audience hall though.

The sculptor is Pericle Fazzini, and the name of the piece is The Resurrection. It's the subject of a lot of conspiracy theory stuff, which I think speaks to its affective power as a work of art.
Genuinely awe inspiring art and I guess the point is to have it there, absolutely gigantic and looming overhead at all times. They are literally holding their meetings underneath the shadow of nuclear apocalypse. A very strong message and consistent reminder of what they must work to avoid. It is bigger than any of us.
