For real though this would fucking rock!
Retcon Punisher to make him a descendent of John Brown.
Instead of using low-level criminals as bullet sponges, he targets modern-day exploitation.
To satisfy the needs of heroes who can’t find function like a normal human being (which most of them can’t), the lucrative Gemeinplatz slave trade crushes the dreams and ruins the lives of hundreds every day. These slaves endlessly labor, in the harems of so-called heroes, at the mansions of the landowning “heroes”, and as rare materials for various dubious magical spells.
In a world that looks down at them as demi-human, where the ruling class has no incentive to end this profitable trade, in which their oppressors are overpowered as all hell, what hope is there for the slaves?
What hope is there, is named John Brown. This time, he’ll finish what he started.
:JB-shining-aggro:
In a subplot, while on the run, you come across John Brown and his posse
The idea is kinda interesting, but the real big problem here is that John Brown was already dead before the Civil War started.
Idk why no one’s written an isekai of someone overpowered, casully encounters a slave market, returns at night to absolutely destroy the slavers, and free the slaves, and then choose to start a slave rebellion with any that choose to fight, maintaining an ever growing army with the objective of completely destroying the system in place to one fairer than before.
I mean true, One Piece is legit a anti establishment/capital master piece that also is about collective action (i.e. you got the main characters but he wouldn't be as successful without all the help he gets from everyone else and he fully accepts and embraces that fact).
ah damn...i just remember the drama from when like the 3rd episode or so came out and they killed who everyone thought was the main character
doesn't it start off with an evil woman making a false rape accusation? not sure there's much to salvage here
i haven't seen it, so you may be right. but it really feels like (from an outside perspective) the core is the idea of punishing a woman for lying. yeah, you could have a similar story without that core, but it needs a lot more than just some minor tweaks. the misogyny is just to central to the premise imo
i gotta say that spoiler isn't convincing me. i think there are certainly some elements that sould be good in a different story, but stuff like the spoiled plot details make me really think the author thought the most important part was the misogyny
I mean the hate rage the entire community has for her is at incel levels tbh, like jesus fucking christ there's a lot of revenge fanfics :what-the-hell:
I mean fuck from what I've read they become gods and fuck off to create a new world instead of, you know, solving the institutional issues of slavery. Fucking Japan like most of the west is allergic to advocating for systemic change (which makes sense since they murdered all their leftists).
Could be that as well, I legit just read the sparknotes after peacing out once it got way incelish. anyway yeah the tldr either way is they are more than powerful enough to start exterminating any and all slave traders and freeing slaves
He didn't hate the world until he came to the new world, he was a kinda quiet and shy guy.
Literally in the anime he was just quiet and reclusive until after myne did her thing. IDK how any other version of the story went.
I guess your phrasing of him as an edgy 4chan weeb kinda sounded like you thought he was that way from the word go,not as a result of the narrative.
The isekai convos in here reminded me that Mage and Demon Queen exists. Thanks for that. :commiku:
It's a leetle cringe at times, but without spoiling it's cute in a way that I find appealing and somewhat third worldist. Lib obviously, but eh.
