Not just your people, imagine being responsible for unleashing decades of unchecked capitalist hegemony on humanity with climate change looming on the horizon

We cannot emphasize this enough. The fall of the Soviet Union wasn’t simply a punch in the gut for socialism, but for any hope of the resistance of the Global Periphery.

The process literally involved handing a sizable chunk of the world’s nuclear arsenal over to the bourgeoisie

When I recently played Xenoblade Chronicles 3 I was reminded of Kissinger

            spoiler

In XC3 there are these beings which have basically achieved immortality by drawing life force out of humans waging wars. Because of that they are committed to keep the wold at constant war by pulling the stings in the back. For some reason this reminds me immensely of Kissinger

If the worst people on earth live the longest, that is strong evidence that we are actually in hell.

I constantly go back and forth about how much blame to lay at the feet of Gorbachev, and how much on other broader forces. Like, not investing in cybernetics and computers in the 60s really hurt the USSR down the line (admittedly an easy position to take in hindsight, but still I think the planners had to have some idea that computers would eventually be the way to go). Sometimes I feel as late as 1986 the USSR could have been saved with a very dedicated effort, and if that's true I definitely put a lot of this all on Gorby.

The Soviet Union would've easily existed in the modern day if not for gorbys reforms. China was far late into the microprocessor party and they're making 7nm chips now. ___

So did the millions of people who died because of the illegal dissolution of the Soviet Union.
