We run Trans Rescue, a charity that helps trans people escape from dangerous places We've of course added amerikkka to the list, and our main campaign this year is to educate people on how to get out of the US during the increasingly possible biden-fall lame duck period. We post little cartoons and explainers on a few social media sites. Shares appreciated cat-trans Many people feel stuck, or are stuck, due to family ties. Do you all have any first or second hand perspectives/stories on this?

If you need help planning your own escape from the USA, email usa-campaign@transrescue.org for a free consultation.

I am terrified of the day I find the need to flee (currently living in one of the safer parts of America, but how long will that last?). I have a degree and language skills and a very understanding family that would probably be okay with me making that choice for my safety. My partner on the other hand, believes that he does not have that option - he never finished college, has lots of close family ties, and a career that is a lot more marketable here than anywhere I'd like to move to.

I love this man and will be devastated if I have to leave him for my own safety. But also I need to keep that option in my pocket. I'm scared.

My hope is it will only be necessary to help trans people relocate from state to state, instead of needing to flee the whole US. What a grim thing to hope for but I can't see a better scenario in the short term. Important to prepare for both scenarios.

If Genocide Joe wins the safe states will mostly be status quo, while the red states will probably freak out and make shit a lot worse
