I guess veganism could be considered preparation for climate change, but it's moreso a movement to reduce the impacts and push back against climate destruction.
Well yeah but with the water shortages we'd be forced off of meat by then anyway, so I don't consider that "preparation" on an individual level, unless you mean development of vegan industry in which case you're right that's important prep.
I consider setting up a farming supply chain a form of industry.
When I mean personal veganism I mean consumer choices. Which would make transitioning to them easier over time than being forced to when shortages occur, but isn't really preparation.
'Veganism' most often refers to individual choices and not industry change though, so that's why I interpreted it that way. Industry change is a slow consequence of it of course.
Is it? Growth is slowing but dairy production and consumption is still growing in the US. Here is USDA data on dairy consumption and here is production. More data here https://www.ers.usda.gov/data-products/dairy-data/dairy-data/
edit: this is the most viable short term method however
Yeah liquid milk consumption is decreasing, but across all dairy products (cheese, yogurt, etc.) consumption continues to rise. It will be interesting to see if the trend of milk expands to other dairy products.
Damn, if only it were possible to sabotage the machinery of slaughter. Shucks, guess this is just another thing that has to wait for the revolution (any day now, I swear), like healthcare, housing, food, water, climate change, etc.
What you're going to go terrorize some slaughterhouses or some dairies? Go for it. We can't even legally film in these places, how are we going shut them down en masse without state power?
Veganism. Serious discussions of how we actually need to prepare for climate collapse.

I'll eat anything that tastes good, so bug me up
Is this one of those "bug chaser" fetish things?
Heck yes! I love to chase bugs! Grasshoppers and ladybugs and worms! They run real fast!
Why eat bugs when you can eat what the bugs eat?
Cos we mostly can’t eat what the bugs eat lol
Not true if you start farming insects.
That's unethical, bugs are people too. We must only eat dirt and rotten fruit that has naturally fallen from trees
I see my struggle session has worked. As of now, 6 upvotes and 6 downvotes

Animal liberation comes after the revolution because how the fuck can we get people to stop killing cows when its profitable?
I'm vegan btw
Substitutions through capitalism and a repeal of subsidies is actually working in that lane for dairy.

Milk consumption in US has been on a steady decline for the past few years.

It rhymes with moms.
Look if you want to do that go for it. It just isn't gonna help anything. The Russians learned that it doesn't from the People's Will
