there's one of those in a museum on the Golden Lane in Prague, along with a few other melee-gun combos:

so you can shoot, stab, and damn your enemy, all at the same time?
I think I saw this at Prague Castle fr. Basically a 40K weapon. I liked the ones that were guns, but also axes.
The pride of Bohemia
"Hey, why did you bring a Brannock Device to the battle?" (dies)
This image goes so hard I basically sprung out of bed to shove it in my partner's face. Absolutely sick.
Just looking at this gives me a strong desire to press L2 and watch it transform into a steampunk chainsword.
Every time I see a huge blade on the edge of a gun barrel I think about how much it must have sucked to aim. I've seen some halberds with pistols integrated into them as well.
I guess the idea is you're only going to be shooting someone right in front of you, or they're purely ornamental weapons.
They probably would have all been smooth-bore so aiming was more of a suggestion beyond point-blank range. That being said I think you're right about the assumption these are mostly ornamental, they were probably the old timey equivalent of mall ninja shit except with better craftsmenship
