the idea that politicians like bernie should do literally anything to win, including changing their beliefs and platforms that they've had for decades, is why we live in a hell world. here's an idea: bernie doesn't give a shit what obama or anyone else thinks. he's not suddenly going to stop supporting something like M4A, even if it means winning the presidency.

Nobody can trust politicians with jack shit, but Bernie's record matched his rhetoric, at least better than any US Senator could ever be expected to "walk the walk". There isn't another figure in US government that has that kind of track record, fame, and politics.

At this point in the flight, the roll of the plane is enough that further movement to the left will be more likely to avoid catastrophic damage than returning to a zero bank angle.
