Yeah “being between the thighs of a muscular athlete” isn’t exactly the devastating analogy they were going for.

That being said, the caffeine content in coke is relatively low, how much is she drinking a day that she’s getting caffeine withdrawal headaches from abstaining?

For the youngins, after the "end of history" and the cold war closing, western activists focused a lot of attention on mega corporations and their political sponsors (mcd, coke, Walmart, WTO, G8 etc). Remember adbusters? 9/11 (which hit a WORLD TRADE center) kinda changed the focus

Quark: I want you to try something for me. Take a sip of this.

    Elim Garak: What is it?

Quark: A human drink. It's called root beer.

Elim Garak: [unwilling] Uh, I don't know...

Quark: Come on, aren't you just a little bit curious?

[Garak sighs, takes a sip and gags]

    Quark: What do you think?

    Elim Garak: It's vile!

Quark: I know. It's so bubbly, and cloying, and happy.

Elim Garak: Just like the Federation.

Quark: But you know what's really frightening? If you drink enough of it, you begin to like it.

    Elim Garak: It's insidious!

    Quark: Just like the Federation.

My uncle Chen is like this! I've posted this before re: my uncle

His hardline anti Coca-Cola stance (that the version sold in China has been altered and is an American ploy to sterilize the Chinese people to maintain hegemony, the version Americans drink and appear in film is to lure us into thinking it's safe) is actually so absurd it's kinda funny. Like none of the scientists and doctors in China has noticed this massive conspiracy, it's just his gut feeling. He's let go of that theory in recent years but still maintains it's bad for you (which is true, but for a chain smoker who drinks 65% ABV grain alcohol, is kind of a moot point).
