I want to keep tiktok around because it's melting the brains of an entire generation in the West.

For once the psyops shoe is on the other foot and I'm enjoying it.

Oh boy. Here comes the "China makes the algorithm show stupid shit for Americans to dumb them down." Their golden goose Youtube already does a much better job at that.

The American education system has done more harm on that file than any supposed "enemy" couldve ever hoped for - notwithstanding the hapless teachers trying to pull it together of course

It's sad just how much it's degraded across the country. I'm becoming increasingly convinced that US university's only rank as well as they have because they import all their talent from countries with better education systems.

The US could literally take over the American subsidiary or censor the algorithm but it doesn’t so that says more about our government than china’s

It's been known for a while that the CCP is harvesting data from TikTok.

Hey China, you better not watch me hit the griddy to a sped-up 90s alternative song.

It doesnt take a conspiracy theorist to realize this lol

Private corporations do it all the time

Give the power of advertising to a literal super power and they are going to use it to their advantage. "

But if America makes data laws, that would be bad for American companies! They couldn’t do as many tax schemes!

It’s honestly amazing how much better Tiktok is at recommending clips that are amusing to me than Instagram/FB or YouTube, despite my long history with them.

Tiktok is scary because of how little you need to do things that appear as active engagement for it to start guessing.

Take My Energy America has been too hesitant to acknowledge that cyberwarfare is warfare. I'm still annoyed the media decided that "troll farms" was an appropriate term to refer to a hostile foreign nation interfering with our elections by infiltrating our communities online and spreading misinformation and propaganda.

Making Russian trolls sound like Cyberpunk Netrunners.

Okay, only if they ban Reddit as well. If we’re going off of state owned media being bad, then the cia doesn’t deserve to have Reddit either

Didn't we do this before and the only change was a Oracle (Larry Ellison is a Trump guy) now hosts the data in the US?
