Why do conservatives say this as if it's supposed to be a gotcha? Yes, we want things only for people like us and even those who aren't but ultimately leave others alone. It's not that hard. That's a desire for just about any ideology lol.
It's the only horseshoe theory I'll actually acknowledge: the further you get towards either end of the political spectrum the more open you are about the necessity of power and even violence to enforce a political agenda.
Of course the difference is we're trying to use that power to uplift everyone and the reactionaries are trying to use it to murder anyone they deem impure
