Once they are in the stratosphere they will discover that the tickets purchased for them are only one way, and the destination will actually be the sun.
Good idea for a movie.
"Hey why is the moon behind us?" The dread sets in
Putting something into the sun is extremely hard actually. Drifting endlessly in space is far easier a fate to achieve
Yeah, as fun as it would be flying them into Jupiter is way more practical. Inner solar system delta v is hell.
I want to know more detail...

That page can serve as a convenient place to host obituaries too when the rocket inevitably fails
It's not a grift, more like a publicity stunt. A Japanese billionaire is helping fund SpaceX's next gen rocket in exchange for a moon flyby with a bunch of artists.
2023 is optimistic given the delays they've experienced in getting starship's booster off the ground.
No clue. On one hand their mature platforms are quite good at what they do, on the other there's the :melon-musk: factor.
If they crash it'll be into earth.
The reusability of Falcon 9 is a big milestone but Energia 2 could have put us there in the 90s :ussr-cry: .
I agree with you, but I hedge my statements on this topic as I've been criticized here for "defending space treats" when simply correcting the record. Posters here tend to assume spacex is on the same level as tesla.
Currently starship is an empty grain silo with some nice but still unrelible engines stacked on it.
It's gonna be 4-5 years before anyone is dumb enough to Man Rate this (and man rating a booster is like man rating a new airliner) , even as the Artemis Moon lander (which since it doesn't have to launch from earth with crew or re-enter is ironically less dangerous)
2026 CPAC on the moon with guest stars Kanye "Blood And Soil" West, Candace Owens, Jordan Peterson, Alex Jones, Dennis Prager and more!
