He owns the site, the result of the poll will be whichever he prefers, for whatever reason. Either because he's going to try to convince outside investors that it's safe, or because the intelligence officers in his life are telling him his life is in danger if he keeps fucking up the propaganda platform they've carefully cultivated, or because at heart he's just a lazy con artist and he's going to live as comfortably miserable an existence as any human has ever lived regardless of the outcome.
He's genuinely miserable being the admin, and this whole clusterfuck has taken a baseball bat to tesla's stock's kneecaps.

People think other investors are pushing him to resign and he's trying to save face by doing the poll.
Some board members of Tesla are also calling for his resignation there too. He won't. Too much of a narcissist. Wealth is wasted on the wealthy.
