What's the deal with Robert Evans? I hear people call him a spook but I don't know why?

He's worked with Bellingcat, a "news organization" funded by the National Endowment for Democracy (CIA affiliated nonprofit for consent manufacturing) and is a left-anticommunist who basically has opinions in line with US foreign policy.

He also works with cops and seems proud of it

he's basically the type of "anarchist" that is actually a radlib and not really a leftist, he's stealing anarchist valor

There are other connections made, but personally I’ve never forgiven him for whitewashing the racist/fascist coup government in Bolivia by using liberal idpol arguments about the agency of the Bolivian people against “Western leftists.” Disgusting shit, and he never copped to this fuckup because his fans will never give a shit

Also I don’t trust the anarchist who’s staunchly against all foreign governments, but collaborated with the FBI when he finds it convenient

Lmao at the rest of the thread, couldn't actually provide a source indicating that she was guilty at what the right wing protesters believe she is.

I wonder if robert fedvans would let it fly if you reported on right wing protesters in the US like that.

Hello fellow leftists. I hear that this country America is about to attack is run by some real bad people. Let me tell you how evil they are so you don't feel so bad when we coup them?

Sorry did I say coup? There was no coup, only a completely organic freedom movement that happens to align with the US state department goals perfectly.

I know it seems sus, but that south American democratically-elected politician is actually an authoritarian tankie, so he shouldn't receive our support, critical or otherwise. Same with every historical communist movement, except for the ones that got crushed. Mao and Stalin are the biggest, worst, tankie anti-communists in history.

Anarchist btw. Let's work with the cops to stop fascism.

Listen to how often in his interviews he just repeats back the jokes/comments of his guests word-for-word. Anybody who tells you what you want to hear and/or speaks without actually saying anything should give you the heebie-jeebies. He strikes me as deeply cynical and deeply untrustworthy.

That just makes him a moron though, not necessarily a fed.

tfw you have to bring a minor on your podcast so your Tankie Watch politics will sorta sound like they make sense

Yeah, that was about a year ago and there were multiple episodes where it became super apparent just how much time he spends on :reddit-logo:

I only knew about it because It could happen here was recommended a lot on this website, then a few struggle sessions about him being a fed, and only recently widely accepted hes more than a little sus.

Oh fuck lol I am so movie brained. I've been reading a book about the 70s New Hollywood movement and thought you were talking about the coked up head of production of Paramount back then, Robert Evans, who was involved in getting stuff like The Godfather made.

Fun fact: He was in Malta to supervise the production of Robert Altman's live action Popeye movie w/ Robbin Williams, and he got his luggage confiscated because it was filled with drugs. He then literally got Henry Kissinger, whom he had a personal relationship with, to get it all back for him from the Maltese government.

I don’t know enough to read between the lines in his podcasts (and dont use twitter) but his podcasts have radicalized me. I’m not sure why my opinion is so different, after his podcast about Gaddafi and Iraq I only gained respect for those situations and learned about the real US interests there.

Just wondering what people think about Margaret Killjoy, she did a podcast about the Spanish Anarchists that I thought was pretty good. Is there nuance that I perhaps miss there too?
