I want to report comments and posts that break the rules. But a user said that is considered spamming if I do it too much. What are the rules considering reporting?
I have been reporting every comment and post that breaks the rules.
Apparently the “jaq” in “jaqingoff” stands for “just asking questions” NOT “just answering questions” as I previously believed.
I don't know anything about them - but it seems like this isn't the place for them and they'd be happier at reddit where they can be obnoxious as they want.
I wonder if on average they plan on reporting something like 5+ things a day.
Oh, me either, but I did think the idea of a bit account “just answering questions” was funny enough to post. Not a high threshold for me.
If I went through the trouble of asking how much reporting was too much, I feel like I’d want to at least break double digits with my reports.
10+ a day is like a cop on a Segway writing parking tickets.
This is just my opinion but I think reporting an average of ~4 a day might already be a lot. The community and the mods here are very good. You don't need to take it upon yourself to be a police. Cough, cough.
Following the link labeled “hexbear.nft” (a callback to a previous post of mine) leads to a short clip of Matthew McConaughey’s character from the film The Wolf of Wall Street saying “Those are rookie numbers…” In this context, it is implying—in an attempt at humor—you haven’t submitted nearly enough reports rather than too many, which seems to be your concern.
:stuff:
Edit: spelling
I won’t be reporting this comment, even if it breaks the rules, because I don’t want to be banned. I hope someone else reports it. We should all follow the rules.
If you're going to shit-stir don't play your hand in your username "jaqingoff" :bruh:
Reported for alt-jacketing:
Moderators will be asked to remove comments that are off-topic, unproductive to the post’s discussion, hostile, or wrecker-jacketing/alt-jacketing.
in the offchance this is a real post, i report shit all the time, worst i got was a single dm from a mod who told me the thing i was reporting wasn't in their purview :shrug-outta-hecks:
Report as much or as little as you like, worst case you get banned.
Yes, that’s why I want to know the rules around reporting, so I don’t get banned. Unless I can be banned without breaking the rules?
There's some discretion used for sure, mods are humans. I don't think there's a rule about reports in general but if something is rule-breaking go for it.
Can't speak for the mods here but years and years ago I used to mod some less conventional game modes in Garry's Mod. If someone otherwise seemed to be taking it seriously but were reporting a ton of stuff and wasting our time, I'd just tell them to knock it off and only ban if they kept at it for some reason.
Ok.
The lack of specific rules is concerning. There should be a rule that says only 10 reports a day or something. Or only one report per (offending) user.
Thank you for the answer.
I don't think reporting is going to be considered spam so much as copypasting the exact same "I've reported you" comments will.
This is a good bit account tho. Had me going for a while
