"This city should not exist. It is a monument to man's arrogance" - King of the Hill
Mosquito heaven holy shit. I love to make my already unusable outdoor space even more unusable during the only time of the year that temperatures will not kill you in minutes
Also I’d like to put on my geologist hat to add to this post by giving some disclosure on Arizona water use:
72% of water us in Arizona is agriculture
Arizona would have nearly zero water issues if we didn’t subsidize farmers for growing plants where they simply aren’t supposed to grow. Of course, this post shows an egregious waste of water that shouldn’t be happening, but it’s important to remember who to be mad at. Only ~20% of water use in Arizona is household water use.
:morshupls: "Look, you said 'just like Florida' not 'just like Florida before it became unlivable from sea level rise'. This one is on you!"
:rage-cry: NOOOOOO I NEED TO EXPORT MY UNSUSTAINABLE LIFESTYLE ALL OVER THE WORLD
:rage-cry: NOOOOOOO WHAT DO YOU MEAN THIS IS LITERALLY AN EXTENSION OF COLONIZATION
Okay fuck it, I realize most people there don't have control over the layout and construction of the place but as far as those who do, they're literally just asking for it.
Where do you think all the California refugees will move to? Checkmate, liberal.
Looks like small pontoon boats and whatnot. We love our beautiful boaters, folks.
The fountain, driven by three 600 horsepower (450 kW) turbine pumps, sprays water at a rate of 7,000 US gallons (26,000 l; 5,800 imp gal) per minute through an 18-inch (460 mm) nozzle.
incredible. dumbest shit i've seen today probably.
Arizona will shortly run out of water, after which their water use will drop precipitously
Fort Myers, Florida is an example of the same idea in a location where it should work but done terribly
venician-style suburbs might me marginally more navigable
or at least more fun to navigate
I have relatives who live in Texas on the gulf who live in a neighborhood like this. But they're right on the coast so it makes sense.
That bottom right pic looks literally diseased, like some kind of dried out cyst
