Liberal politics have been desperately coping with 2016 for 8 whole goddamn years as of this November.

In that 8 years I have not heard a single prominent liberal (politician or media pundit) who has even bothered to substantially criticize the electoral college, let alone attempt to do anything about it.

There's no plan. There's no mechanism in their universe of what's possible for them to fix any of this shit. They won't liquidate the supreme court, they won't liquidate the electoral college, they won't break the damn law. They let Roe happen without harming a single hair on the head of a single justice. It's pathetic.

They let Dobbs happen without even attempting to pass a bill. They aren't even interested in doing what they're allowed and empowered to do

The liberals in Germany at the time, notable for not banning the Nazi party, and Hindenburg, notable for making Hitler chancellor instead of doing literally fucking anything to stop the nazis

    Like the post coward.

MF thinks the nazis got power by winning an election.

The social democrats split with the communists and voted Hindenberg, because this election was just too important.

The communists ran on the slogan "A vote for Hindenberg is a vote for hiter, a vote for hitler is a vote for war".

Hindenberg won. He then proceeded to staff all the positions of power with nazis in the name of unity (against communists), essentially couping himself.

I say this with complete sincerity that anyone who still talks about the 2016 election as if that fucking bitch didn’t fucking WIN and STILL lost, deserves to be fucking killed

[CW: Suicide (It's just Hitler but still)]

Did they seriously blame Nazism on communists AKA the people that stomped Hitler so hard that he [redacted] himself?

Yes. They learned the exact opposite lesson from 1933, because their brain can't compute that it was the social democrats and not the dastardly communists who enabled Hitler to get elected

What lesson do they think should have been learned from 2016???

I honestly did learn a lesson, about how ludicrous liberalism is and became a communist as a result, but i don't think that's what they're talking about.

The communists had trouble trusting the SPD, who were not socialists, due to that little incident where the SPD had just murdered their leadership a few years prior.

They don't do anything. They just convince themselves they care about these things. And through the magic of idealism that means that they are somehow better on those things even if they do nothing

Stop gun violence, because it's really bad when bad dudes with guns go and kill children? If only these Palestine protestors cared about children getting killed. Oh, I mean, as in real children. us-foreign-policy
